What a delightful find Antiga Wine Bar turned out to be! We stumbled upon this charming restaurant and were fortunate enough to secure a reservation for that evening. Our experience was so wonderful that we returned just a few nights later, eager to relive the magic. The ambiance of Antiga is small yet incredibly warm and welcoming. It creates an intimate setting that makes every visit feel special. From the moment we walked in, we were enveloped in a cozy atmosphere that set the stage for a memorable dining experience. The waitstaff at Antiga are truly lovely. They are attentive and genuinely happy to make suggestions on both food and wine, all without being pushy. Their knowledge and enthusiasm for the menu added a personal touch that enhanced our experience. While the menu is small, it has been honed to perfection. Each dish we tried was memorable, showcasing well-portioned servings that were beautifully presented. The food was prepared to perfection, with thoughtful balance and pairing that made every bite a delight. If I lived in Lisbon, I would undoubtedly be a regular at Antiga Wine Bar. It’s the kind of place that invites you to relax and savor the moment, making it highly recommended for anyone seeking an intimate and enjoyable restaurant experience. Whether you're a local or just visiting, don’t miss the chance to dine here—you won’t be...
Read moreMy husband and I are from Canada and celebrated our 5th year anniversary here at Antigua Wine Bar in Lisbon. We made this reservation 4 months in advanced and noted that it was our anniversary in the booking notes, when we arrived, there was a very cute empty table at the front of the restaurant by the street; to my surprise, we were instead put at a table in the back by the bar... I asked to be moved to the front table considering we booked so far in advance and that it was a special night for us. We were told no by our waiter and there was nothing he could do about it as the person who "reads the booking notes left hours ago". They sat a family there instead about 30 minutes later and I highly doubt they booked further in advance than we did. I asked the family as we were leaving if they were celebrating anything special to which they replied no. Not only that but our server was absolutely miserable, he made us feel uncomfortable and never smiled once. The food was OK, some plates were better than others but overall we've had better tapas and better service at other restaurants. If you're looking to celebrate something special, please consider somewhere else as this restaurant does not care. I really regret picking this place for our...
Read moreIf only the service was as good as the olives. We are only in Lisbon for two nights and decided to come here based off the other good reviews and I regret wasting one of our few meals here. The food was nothing special - the vegetarian croquettes had a glue-like texture and the vegetarian samosas tasted like something frozen from a box. The tomato octopus risotto was decent. The only great dish was the olives. Good wine selection but after we had finished our first glass the server never came back to take another drink order. We had to ask for water for the table. We had ordered a bread basket to start but didn’t receive the bread until almost the end of the meal. Finally, we had to flag down the server to pay because they hadn’t come back to our table for ages. After we asked for the bill we again waited for about 15 minutes for the server to return. I eventually got up to pay our bill at the counter to find our server sitting behind the bar eating pizza. Do not waste your time...
