The food is very nice here. However I do think that the service is lacking. I tried this place twice. First because I heard very good things about it and the second time I went back near the end of more so for the convenience (I wasn’t feeling well and wanted something I knew was tasty) I had the salmon bagel and would really recommend. The portions are very good. I do think the service could be a lot better. The staff are not fully tuned in. People who arrived after me ordered before me. When I got my food I was not given a knife fork so I waited a few minutes and just about to get up they finally dropped them down. The second time I came I waited to be seated like the sign says. I was waiting a few minutes and I saw a waitress walk by so I said hello. Thinking she would bring me into a table. She just said hi back and brushed past me. I don’t know what she thought I was waiting there for but it wasn’t just to say hello😂 I waited a few more minutes and a different waiter brought me in. The reason why this annoyed me was because they weren’t busy. It was past peak time I came in at about 3:50pm. While in the middle of writing this review a couple came in and stood at the door. Waiting to be seated and one of the waitress who was standing at the til at the top of the restaurant declared very loudly they were closed. (Says 5pm online and they arrived at 4:10pm). I had just got my food and 5 other tables were still eating. After the couple walked away the few staff members at the bar and til were laughing and sniggering. The waitress proceeded to sit at the table beside me and go on her phone. I thought it was so bizarre and really off putting. Wouldn’t be back. I enjoy my food more when the staff are friendly and don’t have...
Read moreWe went along to Dear Breakfast today after seeing it being highly recommended. Unfortunately, we were left very disappointed with the initial service that we had received.
I had ordered a matcha latte with regular cow's milk. Upon tasting it, I was certain that it was made with oat milk but it was also incredibly bland and watery. I raised this with the waitress who had long blonde hair and wore her hair down. She took it away and when she came back, she was not only unapologetic but incredibly rude. She came back and said that she had checked and that the barista said that regular milk was ordered so then that must be what was used before slamming the drink back down on the table and walking away.
We were appalled by the reaction and poor service that we had encountered, especially as paying customers. Therefore, I got the attention of another member of staff who wore glasses and had brown hair. I explained what had happened and she was quick to apologise and offered a replacement but we declined the offer. We assume after discussion amongst the workers, they had a better understanding of the situation and made attempts to rectify the situation as another waitress who took our orders also came over to offer a replacement of the matcha latte but again, we declined the offer.
We, however, were offered a free slice of cake on the house but felt the damage had already been done as we left with a sour taste in our mouth based our unpleasant interaction with the first waitress who was rude and unprofessional. Such a shame as we had been in Lisbon for quite a while and this was the worst dining out experience we've...
Read moreFew months ago it was amazing. Now few months later, this is a terrible place. They removed my fave hazelnut nutella pancakes 😭 anyways so let’s give a detailed review. We as in my family went to this place as this is a good breakfast place. Or it was. So now a short haired woman or a gay girl didn’t even attend to us. In fact, she ignored us when we tried to communicate with her and still ignored. Another, a man carried 4 orange juices for us and spilt some orange juices and i saw and he pretended he didn’t spilt it. They took over 1 1/2 hours long just to give us our breakfast. And the plates and glasses were terrible presentations. We also were disappointed due to the coffees cuz they were so bitter i couldnt even drink the whole coffee. And also we were tryin to speak portuguese with the portuguese staff but they were speaking to us in english due to our “indian looks” which means they assume we couldn’t speak portuguese. So never judge the book by its cover. And finally when we leaving we said bye to that short hair gay girl and she ignored that as well. Shameful experience today was. Bring back the old...
