I spent about 6 days in Ph Downtown Suites. First of all- the place is clean, and centrally located- and there is an EATING BEAR across the street---and their lunch specials are great. There is also a pub across the street- and a very nearby tourist booking place to get you tickets to go to Belem or take a TUK TUK ( which is kind of their golf cart to take you around the town. Now, there is a very small tiny breakfast room- but it is well stocked with fresh fruit and yogurt-- and break and cereal- but they need a new expresso machine. One last thing- this is NOT the place for handicapped or elderly or arthritic- the rooms are up three flights of stairs--36 steps- I counted them all- and NO ELEVATOR-so - if you are disabled- you need to be aware of these 3 flights of stairs...the bathrooms are clean and there are balconies- which are nice to hear the beautiful noise from...
Read moreThis is a budget option in central Lisbon. My room was very clean, though the bed was very hard - no "give" when I sat on it. The bathroom was tiny - I had to step over the corner of the shower stall to get to the toilet. The rooms are up 3 sets of stairs - about 30 in all - be prepared if you have heavy luggage! There is a place to leave luggage if you need to leave it before your check- in time. The domestic staff are kind, though the set up is mainly for independent travel, so not your standard hotel reception. |Breakfast is in a very cramped kitchen with only cold options - meat, pastries & cereals. With all the guests in there people had to move out of their chairs to let other guests access the food. I had to sit on a bar stool. |The location is excellent for the central tourist amenities in Lisbon and 2 mins from the Praca do Comercio, 10mins walk...
Read moreTerrible stay, the manager is a liar and a dishonest man. I used the bathroom and the feces CAME OUT OF THE SHOWER (who the hell designed the system). We asked for a replacement room with a functioning bathroom that doesn't discharge the toilet into the shower but there was no room available.
We decided to leave and the manager fakely apologized and promised us our money back. 5 minutes after leaving, he canceled our stay making it look like we never showed up to the hotel. We've been in touch for the past 2 weeks to recover our money and the manager has refused to give it back.
We tried to call the hotel but all of a sudden, the manager does not speak english or spanish anymore, even though he talked to us in spanish...
