This is a place you go to eat. Maybe your date wants the frills and all kinds of fancy stuff and you're trying to impress them with having bubblegum and kit for dinner. This is not that place. This is the kind of place you bring your date to eat. This is the place you impress your date if they are a foodie. Goodness me... if that date likes a good meal and a happy tummy, you will score points off the chart.
They close between late afternoon to about 7pm so there's no option for an early dinner if you are keen to satiate your hunger earlier... I know... because I headed back there the day after so that I can get me some Portugese soul food. Oh yeaaaaaaaa. Can't wait. Posting this in the meanwhile till I can get me a whole heap...
Read moreWow. Haven't gone to a place with a strong hint of racism in a long time. (We're Asians from the US.) There were 2 customers sitting inside. The chef and waiter saw us but took 5 minutes to open the locked door. When he did, he immediately said they only speak Portuguese at the restaurant. Nós dissemos,"Eu posse falar um bocadinho Português." Then he reluctantly let us in and put us in the farthest corner when there was only 1 other couple there. Flashback to living in the US pre-2000. Read moreOur server was quite attentive and had great energy. He didn’t speak english, but he used google translate to converse with us. Their piri piri chicken is to die for! My wife had the cod and it was one of the best dishes she has had according to her. When we ordered the the dessert - a sweet called Sericaia, our server told us that he had made it and I must say, it was made per its authentic recipe and we thoroughly enjoyed it.
