After living in London for over 20 years, where you’re truly spoiled for choice when it comes to Indian food, I wasn’t sure what to expect from an Indian restaurant in Lisbon. However, I’m delighted to say this place completely exceeded my expectations.

The food was wonderfully authentic, with bold and rich flavors that reminded me of some of the best spots back in London. Each dish was perfectly spiced, striking that balance of depth and warmth that so many places miss. It’s clear the kitchen takes pride in delivering true Indian cuisine, not just toned-down versions.

The staff were incredibly attentive, always checking in without being intrusive, and their genuine hospitality made the experience even better. The decor is both elegant and inviting, with thoughtful details that create a warm, relaxing atmosphere. They also have a lovely outside space with heaters, which is perfect if you prefer dining al fresco, even on a chilly evening.

If you’re looking for real Indian delicious food in Lisbon, this is the place. I’ll definitely be...

Bombay Republic in Portugal is an absolute delight! From the moment you walk in, you’re welcomed with warm hospitality that sets the tone for an exceptional dining experience. The service is top-notch—attentive, friendly, and always ensuring you have everything you need.

The food is simply outstanding, with rich, authentic Indian flavors that are perfectly balanced. Every dish is crafted with care, using fresh ingredients and aromatic spices that transport you straight to India. Whether it’s the delicious curries, tandoori specialties, or mouth-watering street food-inspired dishes, each bite is a treat.

The ambience adds to the experience, with a stylish yet cozy setting that makes it perfect for a relaxed meal with family, friends, or even a special occasion. The blend of modern decor and traditional touches creates a warm and inviting atmosphere.

When we entered, the staff didn’t greet us with a smile, which made the atmosphere feel cold. The decor looked more European than Indian, which didn’t match the theme of an authentic Indian restaurant.

We ordered a mango lassi, but it tasted unpleasant and we couldn’t even drink it. We informed the server that it didn’t taste right, but she didn’t ask for any feedback or show concern. However, they did remove it from the bill, which we appreciated. The cheese garlic naan also lacked both cheese and garlic flavor, which was disappointing.

On the positive side, the butter chicken and the cocktail were quite good. Still, despite being labeled as authentic Indian, the overall taste and experience didn’t reflect that. The service felt rushed, and we didn’t feel like welcomed guests. If you’re looking for a warm, authentic Indian dining experience, this might not be...

Disappointing and Unsafe Experience, Not Worth the Hype Booked through The Fork but were told on arrival the discount wouldn’t apply due to “quota sold out” something we weren’t informed of beforehand. Decided to stay and try the food anyway. Ordered 4 starters (€56) and takeaway mains (2 chicken biryanis, 2 Mumbai-style chicken). Shockingly, we found a rubber band in the green chutney, a major health hazard that completely ruined the experience. While the food had potential, this kind of carelessness is unacceptable. Hygiene should never be compromised. Would not recommend until they seriously improve food safety and customer transparency.
