Caffe Bar Beca Beca — Restaurant in Lisbon

I’ve been to Beca Beca many times for drinks but it was my first ordering food there and unfortunately I didn’t have a positive experience. I ordered a ceviche that was everything but I ceviche. Instead, I received SMOKED SALMON sashimi in a soup of god knows what. It tasted nothing like leche de tigre or even lime. It was honestly one of the most dissatisfying dishes of my life. I couldn’t even eat it. When the waiter asked why I didn’t eat it, I politely told him that I didn’t like it because of the smoked salmon and lack of leche de tigre/lime and he got super defensive saying “it’s ceviche portuguese style” in a very condescending way, borderline rude. I’m Portuguese and it’s offensive call such a weird meal “portuguese style” 😂 there are plenty of restaurants in Portugal with fantastic Ceviche. If the restaurant wants to do their own version of Ceviche, they must inform the customer on the menu that they are using smoked salmon and a “sauce” that looks more like a pink soup.

We didn't actually eat at Beca Beca – we had a glass of draft beer in its beer garden on a beautiful, sunny day shortly before Christmas. So my food rating here has to do not with food itself, but with that refreshing glass of cold beer as we sat in the lazy afternoon sunshine in the park.

This was a very pleasant place to while away time on a sunny December Sunday afternoon. The person who brought us our glasses of beer couldn't have been nicer. He returned to talk to us as we sat at our table, and recommended a number of local sights we might like to see. This is a great place to have a drink outside on the park if you’d like to get some sun and chill there’s plenty of shadow as well.

This quiosque is right next to the playground so is perfect to bring your kids while you can get either some food or drinks.

We came for drinks and to get some sun we were very pleased with the atmosphere and the waitress were very friendly, the menu is also quite fresh and is a perfect place to get some talk with friends.
