The perfect way to have dinner in Lisbon or how the hell they do it for 65 €.
On 1.5.2025 me and 5 friends were tired and just wanted to have a good dinner after walking up and down the hills of Lisbon. A quick search with the mobilephone showed us the way to this restaurant. I am from Germany and eat several times a year in restaurants with at least one * Micheli.
By chance, there were still 5 places available. Right at the pass of the kitchen.
We had a 9-course menu which revolved exclusively around specialties of Portuguese cuisine. They were all reinterpreted and sometimes amazing. In particular, the greeting from the kitchen, pickled apples were fantastic. Several intermediate courses, especially the cabbage with mayonnaise were wonderful. The complete menu with wines, some of which were very special, but came completely from Portugal, cost us 110 €. In Germany, you would be paid more than twice as much
I can only recommend everyone who visits Lisbon go to this restaurant. The price-performance-ratio is incredibly good, the quality of the food amazing and partly at star level.
Come and enjoy it. You will spend a very nice evening in Lisbon that you will not forget in a hurry.

The "potato foam" that came with the squid had so much nutmeg in it that it was impossible to taste the squid if eaten together. The asparagus/poached egg xerem really was not good at all. And this is where the real issue is: the service. When the waitress (Adriana, I believe) removed the mostly full plate, she didn't ask if anything was wrong. We previously had to remind her twice that we had ordered wine, which means we only got it halfway through the main courses. When her colleague asked us if we wanted dessert, we told him that we would stop there because so far things had not been going well. He just said ok and came back with the bill. Apparently it's not important to them that guests have a good experience?
It's never nice to leave a 2-star review, but it's very generous considering we paid €66.50 for the two of us to go home hungry.
PS: They will bring bread and olives to your table, which will make you think it is...

Each course was a masterpiece, presenting traditional flavors with modern flair. The wine pairings were impeccable, enhancing every dish and introducing us to Portugal's finest vintages.
The highlight was the finale - a tasting of young and old Madeira wines with coffee. This was truly transcendent, offering a fascinating contrast between vibrant, fruity notes and complex, nutty flavors.
What set Casa Tradição apart was not just the exceptional food and wine, but the genuine warmth of the staff. Their passion for sharing Portuguese culinary culture made us feel like welcomed guests.
