Club des Châteaux - WINE BAR - SALDANHA — Restaurant in Lisbon

Worst place I've been in a long while. First of all, several things from the menu were not available (and it's a short easy menu). The bread came literally frozen (no fresh bread in a place that only serves cheese/charcuterie/patés?), after the first basket they run out and served low quality unsalted old crackers. The "cured meat" plate suggested by the staff was literally out from a plastic box from the supermarket, all the pieces of ham stuck together. They charged us 2 salads and 2 potatoes because the plates were "big", even if served in a normal plate. And these are only the main issues (overall low quality of all the products in general, high priced for super small plates, and more). I don't understand how a place like this has good reviews. In Lisbon there so much better places for fantastic wines and international food options, especially French like this place claims to...

First impression, wow, what a nice place. Beautiful setting walls full of nice wines and nice decorations a nice greeting at the door.

More or less after that the dinner experience went south, the waiting time for the food to arrive was under all criteria, we went for something light. Oysters and some mushrooms tea (tea took 20min to arrive) and wine, the time for the food to arrive was so long that my glass of wine ended, after that the waiters were gone I spent my meal without wine AT a wine bar.

The place needs improvement , to start, they dont have enough waiters with experience. The tapas menu is very limited. And probably more staff in the kitchen when it takes more than 30 minutes to receive a bowl...

A small and seemingly inconspicuous place, with a big warm soul.

A large selection of wines, including by the glass. Possibly one of the very few places in Lisbon where you can order just a glass of authentic Champagne.

The food is terrific, from the bread and appetizers to the hot dishes. It’s incredible that you can have such a real French gastronomic experience without having to leave the Portuguese capital.

A special word of thanks to the caring staff, who were always attentive and friendly.

It is one of those places where you feel particularly comfortable and welcomed. I know for sure that I will be back here...
