Where to start? Such a disappointment. First of all when they placed us at our table we were sat in front of a big ventilator that was fixed on us not moving, I asked if it was possible to put it so it would rotate and not be fixed on us and the answer was someone else asked to turn it on that was at the other end of the restaurant, the air was really strong and I started to have a fit of cough someone that was of my party had to switch places. No proposal to sit us at another table or to turn the air a little down.

The food was good BUT I asked a pressed orange juice and was served a concentrated orange juice. I asked one of the servers to check that they hadn't mix orders and she just told me that they had a professional machine to do the pressed orange juice and didn't confirm with no one that the order was correct. I knew that it wasn't fresh juice but didn't want to ruin the dinner so I decided to let it go. But when I saw someone at the bar mix an enormous jug of concentrate with water I decided to talk with another server when I called her to bring me the check. So I told her and she kept repeating that she had already worked at the bar mixing the drinks and that she knew that they used the machine because they always did it that way, but because they always do that way it doesn't mean that the machine can't be broke or that they run out of oranges. And I told her that I saw them mixing the drink, she told me that it was probably a cocktail but a cocktail oa not made of only sirop and water, is not served on the same glasses and it's not the same orange color of the drink that waa in front of me and that was poured in the glasses and served to other clients. Once she come back with the check she told me that she had asked and they told her that they mixed it but for their personal consumption... I SAW THEM serve 2 glasses to other clients.

And let me be really clear, the taste was exactly like concentrated orange juice. The color was too bright to be natural, and there was NO pulpe, absolutely NONE, and there are some machines that are able to capture almost all of the pulpe but not 100%

So my issue is the lying because I can understand even if because of the quantity of clients they decided to not do pressed orange juice but in that case they inform the client so I can order something else or I can decide if I want concentrated orange juice, but making me pay almost 4€ for that it's outrageous, I wouldn't mind pay that for the real stuff!!!

It's really sad because minus the lying the staff was nice, and the food was good. But I will not be returning there nor can I recommend people to go there. I am not for...

I had high hopes for this restaurant, but unfortunately, the experience fell short on several fronts.

First, I had made a reservation for 19:30. Due to unexpected traffic, I called ahead to inform them I would be 30 minutes late. They assured me it was no problem. However, upon arrival, despite the reservation, I was told by a very polite Brazilian lady at the entrance that I still needed to join the queue like everyone else. This left me questioning the point of making a reservation in the first place.

Once seated with my wife, we noticed that the walls next to our table were quite dirty, with visible food stains — clearly not cleaned between guests. It didn’t create a pleasant atmosphere to start our meal.

The service throughout the evening was inconsistent and felt unprofessional. Our server cleared all our plates and cutlery in anticipation of a main dish that, he claimed, would arrive "very shortly." It didn’t. While we waited, we were left eating old, clearly not fresh bread with butter — and had to eat it on the same plate that was meant for the main course. After finishing the bread, I found myself brushing off crumbs from the plate just to prepare it for the actual dish that was still delayed.

When the main dish finally arrived — a large platter with several cod preparations — we found one serving cold and another with a burnt taste. This was very disappointing, especially given the price point and the reputation the restaurant seems to have.

To top things off, getting the bill was unnecessarily difficult. Staff weren’t attentive, and no one seemed to notice when we were ready to pay. When the bill finally arrived, the waiter casually mentioned that items like butter, bread, and olives were being added — without these ever being requested or explained beforehand. On top of that, those charges weren’t even included in the first version of the bill, so we had to wait again while a second version was prepared with the extras added.

Overall, the experience lacked basic hospitality standards and attention to detail. It’s unfortunate, as the place seems to have potential, but there’s a lot of room for improvement — especially in service, cleanliness, and...

This place is very busy - there is a line of customers when they open, and it is difficult to get a table if you do not have a reservation. Those are normally indications of a popular and very good restaurant. So my wife and I wanted to try it out. We managed to get a table on our third try without a reservation. We got seated quickly, and then nothing happened for about 7-9 minutes. When a waiter finally got to our table we ordered drinks and food at once. Our wine was served shortly thereafter but the food got served after another 25 minutes wait. Meanwhile the restaurant got filled up. The wine was fine. The food did not impress us at all - actually we was not happy for it. My wife ordered the Risotto with vegetables, and I ordered a Bacalhau dish with spinach and potatoes. Both dishes were flavourless really lacking taste - a very big disappointment. As if this restaurant is living on its former glory, now focussing on quantity instead of quality. As if no one is tasting the dishes and ensuring taste before serving it to the customers. Furthermore the Bacalhau dish was full of fish bones - small as well as large - making half of the dish impossible to eat/enjoy. So - we are not eating here again and would not recommend people to eat there. And it is really strange as it seems like quite a few other people are happy dining here - so make up your own mind whether or...

I was looking for somewhere for lunch when out on my own in Lisbon recently and Restaurante D`bacalhau seemed to fit the bill. Looking out of the restaurant to all the greenery of the surroundings was great. The restaurant is low key in design and this is perfect for lunch in a big city. I was hungry and asked my waiter for recommendations. I couldn’t pick between two starts so ordered them, both. I chose the mix of codfish, shrimp and octopus with garlic and a codfish ball. The restaurant is renowned for the quality of their seafood and these starters showed the skill of the chef in preparing the food. While on the seafood theme, I saw a main course on the menu that I just had to taste. The Grilled codfish with potatoes in hot olive oil, garlic and onion was as good as it sounds. This is the perfect food when you are in Lisbon. It takes the local ingredients and marries them together. Makes me feel warm inside just thinking about it again! I recommend a trip to Restaurante D`bacalhau just to try this award winning dish. Along with the location and service, this makes it an amazing place to eat in the city. I still had room for dessert. After taking a little time to make my selection, I decided that the tarte de natas ice cream with berries was going to be the ideal way to finish this meal. It was just right – and I left satisfied.

As the name suggests, D'Bacalhau specializes in cod — and it didn’t disappoint. I tried two classic dishes: Bacalhau à Brás and Pastel de Bacalhau. The Bacalhau à Brás was rich, flavorful, and packed with shredded cod, potatoes, and egg — perfectly seasoned and moist. Great texture and portion size, with a refreshing touch from the salad on the side. The Pastel de Bacalhau (codfish cake) was crispy on the outside and soft inside, nicely paired with a cold Super Bock. I sat outside on the terrace, which made the experience even more enjoyable — relaxed vibe, open air, and perfect for people-watching. The location is also a big plus: just a short walk from the Vasco da Gama Shopping Center, the waterfront promenade, and the Lisbon cable car. After a satisfying meal, there’s plenty to do — from scenic views along the Tagus River to shopping or a cable car ride. It was a fantastic spot for lunch and a great start to exploring the area.
