Incredible space! Fantastic cocktails and very interesting wine selection. Knee deep in conversation didn't take too many pictures of the food. The food was good, but below expectations, the menu is composed of very normal/accessible ingredients shaped into pumped up small tasty dishes - but tasty nonetheless. It's a little forced however, everything is expertly devised to make you spend without justification (the classy space alone is not enough): small oysters, odd number of scallops, small duck legs, finger-thick chuleton, etc. Ratatouille was a sludge. This is a bit of a vibe killer whether you have M stars or not, pricey small food should wow the pants off of you, but it comes nowhere close to the sophistication of the space itself while trying to remain out of reach - bit of a mismatch. The charcuterie board looks like it came directly from a PingoDoce packet, it was a regrettably a notably sad dish. Really impeccable service but the first time in Lisbon I was attempted to be forced to add tip (the other guests too), literally could not complete the process on the screen unless I added more value, which makes it look like people aren't getting paid well in a place that presumably has good margins. It has a reverse effect than desired (for all involved), so that was very awkward, and it was the last moment one remembers before leaving. I had a good time in fantastic company, but i dont tend to sugarcoat my reviews. It's an amazing place to hang out that recalls the best of New York or London contextualized in Lisbon, but not a place for foodies (for now! 🤞 i am trying to be constructive, i really love the place itself, HUGE potential that can still be tapped into), so I will be back to enjoy the beautiful rustic chic and very classy space, for drinks for now.🍸✌️ A big plus however was the lack of 2hr table limit, it's becoming impossible to sit and enjoy a social meal without rushing in Lisbon, and this is much appreciated! I hope it is a policy.
PS. For smokers and the continuity of the exclusive vibe/experience, would be incredible to be able to smoke in the courtyard so as to not have to exit the long restaurant every time(if possible...
Read moreA big plus about our experience in this restaurant was their utmost consideration to allow us to enter 35 minutes before they opened! It was very cold and drizzling outside and the 3 of us arrived very early. It was not vey convenient for them to let us enter as they were still preparing for the evening. That was a very big thing for us, that human factor besides the charm of the place, the very good quality of their food, and the service.
They have just opened that week when we came there. Everyone was working really hard to give all guests the best experience despite the imperfection and adjustments they need to do since they have just really opened.
Ambiance is definitely 10/10!
Music was matching the type of environment and feel of the restaurant. Not too loud and not too low.
Without exaggeration the food was 10/10
For a person like me who is so specific about smell, the liquid hand wash they have in the toilet was even this classy Oud scent! That itself impressed me!
Parking space is not very easy though. I also wish to suggest they put a bigger and clearer sign outside and at the corner of the street where customers can easily locate.
My last wish is for the entire team to keep up this high standard all the rest of their business life. I have seen several restaurants in Lisbon that had beautiful and charming toilets deteriorate after some years and I hope this restaurant will have staffs who can even maintain such cleanliness and freshness in the toilet
I hardly give perfect 5 stars in my reviews and I gave No Convento 5 stars as our experience was really perfect because it was definitely true. I can see no flaws at all from our dining and bar experience. We will...
Read moreI recently dined at this lovely restaurant with high hopes, drawn in by its charming ambiance and promising reputation. While the atmosphere and service were impeccable, I must say I left feeling underwhelmed by the culinary offerings.
Starting with the oysters, I found them to be overly salty, lacking the delicate balance of flavors one would expect. The duck leg, though beautifully presented, was unfortunately dry and somewhat tough to chew. As for the tarte tatin, it was a letdown with its unexpected bitterness, far from the delightful sweetness I had anticipated.
Additionally, I was disappointed to find that the cocktail glasses were not as clean as they should have been, which detracted from the overall dining experience.
While the restaurant certainly has potential, I hope they can improve upon the execution of their dishes and pay closer attention to cleanliness in the future. With a bit more attention to detail in the kitchen and behind the bar, this establishment could...
