Don’t pass this up. This place was a fantastic little find. We wandered up the streets of Lisbon from our hotel and then googled restaurants near us. This place didn’t even have a sign that we could find, but we decided to give them a chance. They had about five entrees on the hand-written menu, half of them fresh fish and seafood, and the person who served us said they had only one of one of a fish entree. We ordered, and then watched the staff walk outside and update the menu posted on the wall. The wine was delicious, and the food was amazing. It is simple food - this place is about the flavors and taste, not the presentation. If you are a food snob, this place probably isn’t for you. They aren’t here to make you feel like you’re having an Instagram-worthy meal. They’re providing amazing food at an excellent price. They do it very well. We arrived early and were seated in the balcony, but before we left the main floor filled up completely with a party of young Lisboetas who clearly knew where to eat. This is the place....
Read moreWe didn’t expect to find anything good in the middle of Lisbon’s tourist center, near São Jorge Castle, but we came across this restaurant and it was a great surprise.
They offer a full menu for just 10€ (including a main dish, bread, dessert, and a drink) i thought it was too good to be true. For that price you can’t find this anywhere anymore, and the food was not just good, it was excellent for 10€.
You can tell it’s a real local spot because the place was full of Portuguese people. The service was also very kind. The menu didn’t include coffee, but when I ordered one they didn’t even charge me, which says a lot about how they treat their customers.
Honestly, it was an amazing experience and such good value for money. Highly recommended if you want a real meal in Lisbon instead of overpriced...
Read moreBad food, truly a tourist trap. The food for "local" Portuguese customers came with a complimentary bread basket and the dishes had vegetables but for tourist, no bread and only fries/rice as side. In the end the waitress said cash only but I am sure I saw the locals pay with credit/debit. This place was on the way down from the castle and we were unfortunate enough to get lunch there. STAY AWAY...just a couple of blocks further and you are in the commercial district. BTW, their food is as close to Portuguese food as McDonald's is to fine dining. Don't ruin your vacation...
