Looking for a cool dining experience after a long day on the road… settled on Han’s, the reviews were very good. straight on the street, the host told us he had a table for 2 if we could leave by 8:30-9. like ok, sure? it was 7:15 when we walked in. the place was almost empty, but there was a show from Cirque du Soleil at the MEO, so it made sense that they wanted to have room available when it let out. Anyway. We got a table on the top floor where they seem to be doing renovations, all good. the space is pretty cramped and the employees had to stand at the top of the stairs when “waiting”, which to me is super dangerous… The staff was nice, our server Sana was welcoming and helpful with our questions (in perfect English). They work hard, carrying the “burners” (a pot of hot coals in a pot of water) up and down the stairs. There was a young man going through training that night, there is a learning curve for everyone! As a mom whose kids work in the service industry, I will say, though, it’s not easy to learn all the moves in a super fast paced super cramped space. When a trainee doesn’t “get it”, it’s often because they haven’t received adequate training ahead of time! Near the end of our meal, the host who welcomed us at the start came up and started bussing 2 tables where customers had just left. He seemed displeased and was banging stuff around, acting like the staff didn’t move fast enough… seriously, the clients had JUST left and the new guy was carrying desserts up for another table. Makes me think there is a lot of pressure working there. We were out the door by 8:30, no harm no foul. The food was ok, fresh and flavourful. let’s just say it’s not the cuisine with the most veggies, lol! I don’t think I’ll ever get used to not having water “by default” with a meal, especially with a spicy meal! As the servers were bussing the tables, we could see that table scraps and drink containers (cans and bottles) all go in the trash. No...

Disappointing, to say the least.

Food: We ordered mushrooms, sweet potatoes, gyoza, 2xbeef belly with kimchi and 2xCola.

The mushrooms didn't cook well, felt like they were frozen or went bad. The meat, which should be the highlight of the meal, was almost impossible to chew, not tender, and too spicy. The cola were warm.

Service: We waited for a long time until we got our first plate, sweet potatoes, which we couldnt eat because the grill plate wasn't there yet. Then we had to ask for the rest of our order one by one. The staff were very nice and polite, but they were just standing there most of the time, not being attentive to the fact that the grill needed replacement multiple times, or to other tables. The restaurant wasn't crowded, and most of them were standing next to our table anyways, because it's right next to the entrance.

The experience: In addition to not enjoying the food and deciding to leave without finishing it, we also left smelling like smoke. My eyes were watery the whole time due to sitting outside and the wind blowing all the smoke into my face.

This is the second han table location that we go to, and it's the opposite of our experience in the first location with the delicious tender meat and the amazing attentive service of the staff.

Will...

An Unforgettable Korean BBQ Experience

See attached bill for food that I ordered today -12th July 2024

Our dinner at Han Table Barbecue was absolutely phenomenal! We had the pleasure of being served by Ruby, who was an amazing table host and made our dining experience truly special.

We indulged in a variety of dishes, starting with perfectly marinated pork that was juicy and full of flavor. The chicken was equally impressive, with a delightful balance of spices that left us wanting more. The lamb was the highlight of the meal, tender and expertly grilled to perfection.

Ruby’s service was impeccable. She was attentive, knowledgeable, and made sure we were well taken care of throughout the evening. Her recommendations and insights into the dishes greatly enhanced our appreciation of the meal.

The ambiance of the restaurant was warm and inviting, making it a perfect spot for both casual dining and special occasions. We left thoroughly satisfied and looking forward to our next visit. Highly recommend Han Table Barbecue for an authentic and delightful Korean BBQ experience!

A resposta dela?
