What to say about Honorato Rio?

The pros are that the location is great, it has plenty of seating capacity, and the menu is simple enough to choose quickly.

Cons: it's a bit of a glorified burger joint with long wait times. The relationship between price and value grows further apart the more you think about it, though, because it's a bit overpriced for the size of the meal. They have a regular size and a mini-sized option, but when my regular sized burger came out, it I seriously thought I was being served a mini one instead, except for when I looked at another table's order and saw that the mini is literally a slider-sized burger.... Flavor-wise, I really want to say that mine was really good (the Monsieur), but my wife's (the Mush) was nothing special, and what saves them is that they serve a good portion of fries, and they serve sweet potato fries as an upgrade.

Something that really struck me was that they have adopted to add a 5% gratuity to your bill. I'm really thankful that the person bringing the bill (different from our server) did point it out to me so I could decide, which in turn gave me a chance to explain why my experience wasn't deserving of one.

All in all, I wouldn't necessarily go back, u less, you're looking to have a lighter meal and decide to have the burger with a salad, which is...

We were staying on a nearby hotel and decided to go somewhere close by for our last evening in Lisboa. There were 5 of us, and we were all skeptical about eating at an artisanal hamburger place but decided to go anyway. I had the Rossini hamburger, the other people in the group had the Picanha, IL Goloso and two people decided on the Hot Mex burger. The burgers are on the smaller side and not cheap (15€-16€) but everyone in the group agreed that these burgers were outstanding and probably the best hamburgers they've had anywhere. In the last 40 years I've eaten plenty of hamburgers at many different restaurants in Canada, the US and in Portugal which claim to be the best, the burger I had at Honorato Rio was in fact the best. The restaurant was extremely busy when we visited, service was on the slow side as a result. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about the food and beverages which they were serving. The service rating I have given is in the mid-range not because of the slow service but rather because the Mojito my adult daughter ordered when she had almost eaten her meal was never delivered but it was included on the bill. When I brought this to the attention of our waitress, she was apologetic and delivered the Mojito...

Venho a este Honorato do Parque das Nações há alguns anos e continua com a boa qualidade dos ingredientes de sempre. Pena os preços não pararem de subir; em 2023, os hambúrgueres mais baratos (com poucos ingredientes) estão a 12,50€ e os mais caros perto dos 15€. Podia jurar que eram maiores há uns anos, também, sendo que não me sinto cheia quando os termino (coisa que não acontecia).

Ora, já experimentei quase todos os hambúrgueres disponíveis no menu, e o "Il Goloso" é sem dúvida o predilecto, com um sabor que faz lembrar um prato italiano, com delicioso queijo chedar e cogumelos. Para além deste, o “Honorato” é o clássico para quem lá vá a primeira vez e queira fazer uma escolha mais segura, com o típico bacon e queijo cheddar, mas também leva milho, um curioso ingrediente que geralmente pedimos para retirar (se substituíssemos por outro ingrediente teríamos de pagar extra, infelizmente!). O vegetariano não era mau, mas achei que o queijo brie dominava o sabor de todo o conjunto e por isso não o recomendo. As batatas são bastantes estaladiças, bem temperadas e bem servidas. As batatas doce ficam demasiado caras, mas também são decentes e na versão “chips”, em vez de palito.

Uma vez experimentei a versão “mini” de um dos hambúrgueres e saí de lá com larica. Eu sou daquelas pessoas que come 3 fatias de pizza e fica cheia, por isso não acho a quantidade desta opção adequada a um adulto.

O menu das sobremesas continua muito fraquinho. A mousse vem bastante bem servida, pelo que tive de a partilhar com o meu namorado. Achei-a demasiado doce/ açucarada mas percebo que possa ser deliciosa para muitos. Recentemente adicionaram uma segunda opção às sobremesas: o "banoffee", que é uma espécie de doce com banana e chantilly, que infelizmente não gostei. Ambas estão a 4,50€ (preço um bocado abusado para o que recebemos, honestamente).

Entretanto, ao contrário do “food menu”, o das bebidas é bastante variado e extenso, mas como não consumo álcool, vou apenas comentar que as bebidas não-alcoólicas são bastante caras, sem dúvida, mas bem servidas e deliciosas. Recomendo a limanada ou a "limão-gengibre" (3,50€) por terem a melhor relação qualidade/ preço.

Em conclusão, se procura uma hamburgueria a preços relativamente razoáveis e com boa qualidade na confecção dos seus hambúrgueres, recomendo a Honorato. Esta em particular no Parque das Nações é bastante concorrida, por isso recomendo que se reserve e não aconselho a ir num almoço de feriado, que tem tendência a ficar bastante cheio e com filas infindáveis. Se tiver mesmo de ser, atente no protector solar, que será seu amigo na altura da espera! De qualquer forma, é bastante espaçosa e adequada a refeições de grupo e a esplanada é bastante agradável e preparada para nos proteger do sol. Recomendo!

UPDATE: Provei os aros de cebola em 2024 e não achei grande piada. Se calhar não sou pessoa de aros de cebola, mas fica registado, para não pedir novamente. Os preços em geral voltaram a subir neste último ano, claro. Deixo nova imagem do menu,...
