ZERO SERVICE ZERO CARES Lousy service is where this review starts. Greeted by a hostess with energy ⭐️ and genuine smile she walked me in. It was a SLOW evening and the rain was off and on. I sat facing the pizza oven with the street view behind me. 12 minutes later I wave down a staff member for attention. A female waitress ( initials DC) approaches and is visibly annoyed. Her body language- her face say it all. Her lack of response when I asked about wines because it’s my second day in lisbon and I want to try many wines. I kept my order simple.
My wine was brought by a pleasant, ⭐️ smiling server who had a name tag stating she was a “trainee. “The first thing I said to her was thank you for smiling. She laughed- I explained the situation and she apologized.
Food was dropped off and I never saw my server DC again. Love the tom/mozz - well done, calamari/ vegetables was a lot more veggies and it was ok. I waved down another staff member to ask for a check. Then disgruntled, hates her job waitress DC appears. I present my card and DC has the AUDACITY to ask if I AGREE to leave a TIP !! Do I agree??! No I don’t agree ! GTFO.😡😂😂😂 Seriously? I’ve had more interaction with staff members passing by and the team making pizza! I firmly and proudly said absolutely not. DC swiped my card and walked away. I asked yet another server for a manager- I explained my experience, he apologized and said he would speak with her.
I do not recommend this place. 🚫🚫🚫🚫The name ZERO ZERO is a precursor to the service you will get. ZERO. There are many other businesses that would appreciate a paying customer that is here to SPEND MONEY and be treated well.
✨ Lastly- we all have bad days- but you can’t place it on the guest- there were many chances to have corrected the attitude. ✨✨✨After 2 weeks in Portugal- definitely the WORST DINING...
Read moreThe famous cooking rule that less is more aplies to this place. The pizzas are great because they tend not to have a lot of ingredients and mixed flavours...the formula is based on good home made dough and fresh quality ingredients on top. The same principle wad used on the desert with a bonus...a generous portion was served on the plate...witch is always good for a sweet tooth that always wants just a little bit more.
The space is very confortable and pleasent, altough the lack of space inside was an issue upon the arrival. Something for the management to think and adjust taking in consideration that the good weather is finishing and sugesting an outdoor seating in an open space only suported by a small heating system and no aditional protection it's not enough to convince the client to stay and not loose sales.
The service is quite eficient with low waiting times, altough a lack of organization from the staff regarding the tables ownership was felt in some situations.
The price is the main question and chalenge of this place...should a pizza be so expensive? Does it justify taking in consideration the quality? Is it possible to find other offers in the city more price competitive also with good quality? In my opinion yes...and that is why a 4 was my rating for this place. With this price it is good to go and try once but maybe not to become a reference place for this...
Read moreFor years I’ve heard about their great 00 flour and poolish pizzas ZERO ZERO made, and finally got a chance to try it. It was after an afternoon Oceanário visit and riverside stroll to the restaurant. We were seated right in front of the two ovens and the pizzaiolos. My calzone took 4m:56s in the oven, then it was on the warming spot for another two minutes, before going to the plating area. It stayed there for another three minutes before being served to our table - totaling ten minutes. The problem was not the time, it was the timing of the cooking process that took longer because of the oven being at low temperature. I chose the calzone because while sitting and looking at the menu, I had a chance to see a calzone being made. It came out of the oven with perfect-looking bubbles. “That’s what I am getting,” I decided. This one was exactly 3m:00s spinning inside the oven before plating and being sent to the table. How was mine? I ate something similar to Pappa al Pomodoro - not as expected, a disappointing experience. I am sure it was my bad luck, because they have the ingredients, the ovens, and the reputation. What I recommend is: Check if the ovens are well fired before ordering your pizza, otherwise it might happen the same to you. BTW, the Margherita my wife had was decent...
