Izanagi (Doca de Santo Amaro) — Restaurant in Lisbon

Did not even eat there because of staff attitude. The place had more than half the tables empty. I asked if we could eat there and they said it was booked. I waited a little and tried again 10 min latter. The waitress or room manager came to me in rude way and said to me it was all booked and started snowing me the ipad with the supposed reservation's, I read them, 4 maybe five all of them 1h before we arrived. If they do not want to work then close the place, it is not normal to send customers away in such a rude way. I am just posting this review because I do not like being treated in such a rude way. I had one of the most disappointing and upsetting experiences in my life at this restaurant. I went there with friends, and some of us wear the hijab. Instead of receiving normal hospitality, we were treated differently and made to feel unwelcome. One of the waiters behaved in a way that was indirectly discriminatory and made it very clear that we were not wanted there. Discrimination of any kind has no place in a restaurant or in society. People should be able to enjoy a meal with dignity and respect, regardless of their background, religion, or appearance. I come here regularly. Each day during the week they have a special lunch menu for 15 euros, it includes a starter, main course, glass of wine and a coffee. The food and service are always top notch, that’s why I come here so often. Considering the fantastic location, it’s incredible value, very healthy, excellent quality and tasty. You have a choice of dining outside or inside, I prefer inside where they have comfortable padded benches. The toilets are immaculate too, you can tell they take hygiene seriously. You also have a view of the chefs working in the kitchen which for me again is a positive sign. Well worth a visit if...
