My wife and I travel the world as often as we can. Every once in a while we find ourselves in a wonderful establishment via complete happenstance. We were walking for miles to see some of the incredible waterfront sites that Lisbon has to offer. We decided to stop for a quick drink just to take a break. The Docas waterfront area has a ton of places to stop for a drink. Not sure why I decided on Quintal, but I did. We were greeted by Fabio working out the small bar window. A quick drink turned into several and Fabio showed us some of the amazing drinks that Lisbon had to offer. We could have stayed even longer, but we really wanted to keep moving to see a few more sites. That said, we made it a point to come back for dinner. Fabio was still working and treated us with the same cheerful and welcoming attitude as he did earlier in the day. Our dinner was delicious and the hospitality continued. We felt so fortunate to have decided to pick Quintal to stop for a “quick drink”. Our hope is to come back to this beautiful city again. When we do, we’ll be going back to...
Read moreMy friend and I stopped on this place yesterday for a casual drink/snack. Besides going through several moments of feeling like we’re almost bothering for being there, we are quite relaxed people and had a good time on the balcony. Some details such as taking almost half hour to get our order, after we finally got someone’s attention, getting the order wrong, saying one price for a cocktail than changing to another after we waited so long (understandable as one of the waiters, a friendly guy, was new); we asked to sit on the balcony but the waiter left us on a table were it was literally impossible to one of us to sit, as it was a small place and you would have to go over the table or some door should be opened on the side, and left us there with no help or explanation, then when asked for help the person seemed confused and bothered (this wasn’t a new employee) and finally opened a door that was locked so my friend could go around and sit… Overall, it was fine, and no one were rude to us, but...
Read moreNice place, with terrace at the marina, overlooking the bay and the bridge. Friendly staff. The look & feel of the restaurant sign is more of a restaurant chain like Hard Rock Café, which made the high-end experience quite a surprise. I usually order sushi only at sushi-only restaurants, but this sushi was exceptionally good. They appear to have a professional sushi area in the restaurant. However, the meat dish at another table also appeared to be very, very outstanding. We visited this restaurant twice (for the sushi), but in hindsight I regret not taking a shot at their other dishes. Prices are fair, maybe even slightly on the lower end.
Update 2 years later: still nice place with good food, but prices were higher than expected. 22,50 euros for a burger: that's on the high side, even if it's the 'super dry-aged beef' version (which was okay, but not a revelation). No fries included yet, that's 4 to 6 euro's extra, and then still no sauce, that's also extra. That...
