Mediocre really. We had a lunch here. Upon arrival I approached a waiter and asked for a table in the outside seating area alongside the dock. I was told to wait a moment as he was busy at the register. Sure no problem at all, I didn't mean to interrupt him. However, 5 seconds later another patron approached him while i was patiently waiting. This customer started to have a conversation with the waiter and the waiter was more than happy to converse with him. Anyway I continued waiting. Once we received our table we saw it was dirty. Smudges of old ice cream or a sauce of some kind. Not a great initial welcoming feeling, and also not a table I felt I wanted to touch with my forearms/hands if I was to have a relaxing conversation with my girlfriend sitting across from me.
Ordered a pizza, spaghetti bolognese, beer, ice tea and water.
Straight to the point. The water didn't arrive, had to ask again for it. The beer glass was dirty inside and outside. The iced tea was finished for the day, but no body advised us of it, sooo it didn't arrive either. It took roughly 15 minutes to receive any drinks. Before we even knew about the actual issues of ice tea etc. That was the drinks.
The food: somehow there was confusion between waiters and kitchen. We waited 1 hour and a bit before following up on our food order. The waiter returned saying that there was a mess up and they hadn't processed the order. We weren't in a rush nor were we starving so we said we would wait longer. Finally it arrived...pizza was acceptable, quite tasty actually. The spaghetti bolognese was also not bad, but too garlicky. I am a huge fan of galic so this is saying a lot. Much too much garlic for the average person (I'm assuming). I actually had smelled galic from someone else's plate a few tables away and made a comment to my girlfriend that it was intensely pungent. I dont claim to be a food critic, but do know a balanced dish when I taste one.
I'd say on this occasion there was a huge amount of miscommunication between the staff. Whether it is a common occurence, I don't know. I also won't be going back to find out.
Honestly I believe that a 3 star rating is generous, considering there were issues with both drinks and food orders, also cleanliness issues, and a lack of attention from the staff, not much actually went well. The setting is nice and the food was for the most part acceptable so I think 2 stars would be harsh. I'd give 2.5 stars (50% satisfaction if I could). The prices were okay for the area, and the portions...
Read moreRestaurante Capricciosa, located in the charming Doca de Santo Amaro in Lisbon, is a delightful culinary destination that perfectly captures the essence of Italian dining. During our recent visit, we enjoyed a wonderful meal featuring their pizza and a refreshing sangria, all while soaking up the beautiful ambiance of the patio.
As we settled onto the patio, we were immediately struck by the picturesque views and the inviting atmosphere. The outdoor seating area is beautifully designed, making it an ideal spot to enjoy a meal while taking in the vibrant surroundings. The staff was friendly and attentive, ensuring we felt welcome from the moment we arrived.
The pizza we ordered was a standout. It came out hot and beautifully presented, with a perfectly baked crust that was both crispy and chewy. The toppings were plentiful and fresh, with a delightful balance of flavors that made each bite a pleasure. Whether you prefer classic Margherita or more adventurous combinations, the menu offers a variety of options that cater to all tastes.
To accompany our meal, we ordered a pitcher of sangria, and it was the perfect choice for a warm evening. The sangria was fruity and refreshing, with just the right amount of sweetness, making it an ideal complement to the pizza. Sipping it while enjoying the lively atmosphere of the patio was a highlight of our experience.
Overall, our time at Restaurante Capricciosa was a delightful experience. The combination of delicious food, refreshing drinks, and a charming patio setting made for a memorable evening in Lisbon. Whether you're a local or just visiting, this restaurant is definitely worth a stop for anyone craving authentic Italian cuisine in a beautiful setting. Read moreLast Saturday (2023/02/04) me and my girlfriend went there for dinner and were extremely satisfied.
We got there and I asked right away if there was a table inside because it was very cold. The employee (Fábio Coelho) told me right away that they were full inside but he could tell us if any table would vacate and we'd be moved. And so he did. We didn't have time to decide what to order and we were already seated inside.
We ordered some appetizers, a pizza, two jars of sangria and a dessert. Everything was 10/10 except maybe for the dessert that we didn't enjoy (it was a Nutella Rotolini, for reference).
When we were ready to pay, I thanked Fábio for his exceptional work and asked him how should I tip him (since I don't carry money with me). He told that I could either include the tip in my payment (that would be divided by every staff member) or send him through MB Way (like some people did). I told him that I would let him choose what he preferred and he said without flinching that I could include the tip in my payment.
Before we left I thanked him again and we had a little chat so I could tell him that I rather show my support for when someone does their work amazingly rather than when someone doesn't have a good day. I also thanked the staff leader for Fábio's work and he as well told me that he is a great member of the staff.
We love how everyone was so nice and caring and we're definitely looking forward to go there again and meet...
