We came here as the menu looked interesting.
Firstly we ordered an oyster no.3 to taste and a lobster hot dog appetizer which was the most expensive item in that section, we were told that there was no caviar left as it is usually placed on top of the hot dog. Upon consideration, we thought the star of the dish would be the lobster anyway, and so we went ahead despite the 1 missing ingredient informed. Next we also ordered a herring appetizer, for main dish - a tuna bowl and seafood rice.
The oyster came quickly. After some time, the main dish tuna bowl was served first. The appetizers only came afterwards which was somewhat confusing. Lastly the seafood rice came.
Oyster tasted a bit fishy and the shell felt like there was sand in it. I was glad I only ordered one to try.
The biggest disappointment was the lobster hot dog, as it was a miniature sized black bun covered in excessive mayonnaise sauce with some black caviar on top. Weren’t we told that there was no caviar? As we bit into the bun, I could see strands and small tasteless pieces of what could be lobster meat (or surimi or frozen lobster that was thawed, I don’t know). All in all it tasted just like a plain bun covered in mayonnaise and nothing else. There was barely any lobster and the only pieces visible were drowned in mayonnaise. It was terrible, and for the price of 17,99€, an absolute scam. This should be taken off the menu for good.
The seafood rice looked really good, however the mussels, scallops and prawns were grilled separately and added to the rice on top later, which meant there was no seafood flavour in the rice at all. It tasted like rice and butter with some capsicum that was diced. The rice mixture felt like something a university student would make at home, flavour was so boring I could not finish my food.
I cannot understand the good reviews as the food is really...
Read moreI really love Mushlya restaurant in Kyiv, Ukraine and I had high expectations from the Lisbon restaurant.
We had lunch on the weekend, it was not crowded at all. The interior is okay but doesn't feel comfortable/cozy, I hope it will be improved somehow. Interior/Atmosphere 3/5
There were no oysters available (this is an oyster bar, huh?), we were told only when we made an order. We had a couple of spritz cocktails, two tartares and shrimps platter. Total 19.5€ per person including drinks. Tartares were good although the portions are small. Shrimps were okay, but we expected them to be better. Food 3.5/5
Spritz cocktails were good, but the overall drinks menu is a bit strange for seafood+oyster place: there is no sparkling (brut/prosecco) wine or regular white wine by the glass. Drinks 3/5
Service was really bad. Not sure if it's our bad luck or it is always like this. The waiter broke and spilled both our cocktails on our table and stained my wife's dress. Broken glass and mess everywhere. We didn't really hear any apologies from the staff and the manager, let alone any compensation/discount for lunch from the manager. Service 0/5
Overall impression: 2.5/5. I expected much better. Maybe the guys have only recently opened and are still figuring things out, it will be interesting to drop by in a...
Read moreThe overall impression of the restaurant is extremely unpleasant. Besides the name, logo and decorative element, there is nothing in common with the well-known Ukrainian chain. (I think all of this is stolen)
Food: Hot seafood platter extremely mediocre taste, everything is tough (anyone could likely cook better at home) and very fatty dish more potatoes than seafood ingredients wilted salad leaf - it's embarrassing to include «this» in the dish at all the sushi was edible - generally okay, but not particularly tasty serving of food is so-so
Service: We never got the cutlery for the platter, so we ate the squid whole with chopsticks that were left from the sushi. Only when we asked for the bill were we informed that it was cash only. The cider was served in a black PLASTIC scratched reusable cup!!! This is not a beach food court. No one met us, although they were waiting at the entrance, we went up to the second floor, there was a waiter there and he simply removed some glass from the table and said to sit here
Interior: The decorative elements (like in the Ukrainian chain) look fine, but overall, there is somehow a...
