I’m really really disappointed, this place has changed a lot in the past years, specially because of the people working there. Today I went to have a coffee and in the meanwhile I was working, as everyone else there, there isn’t any rule prohibiting it during the week. While I was working a lady working there came to me and in a really rude manner told me that I come there every time just to take a coffee and that I stay there for a lot of time and that she is trying to run a business here, she is losing money in this way and it’s more important that other clients sits there, she basically told me to leave the place. I came there after two months, I was basically there only for one hour and half, she just told me to leave between everyone else that were working there. She spoke to me in such a disrespectful way, I was of course the only brown girl there. She didn’t say anything to anyone else. I left because I really felt uncomfortable, but before leaving I told her how I felt, and that if they don’t want anyone working there it should be a general rule, she responded back with zero humility. She only cares about money, I mean who remembers what people orders?! Between 7/8 people working there with their pc like me, she told only me to leave. I’m really really disappointed, this coffee shop a few years ago was totally different, now it just became a tourist trap and moreover people working there lost their humanity and humbleness. People should put first different things to succeed in a business as kindness and generosity. I’m never gonna go there again, they definitely lost a client that was going there from over two years, I brought them so many clients over the years, as I was recommending the place to everyone I knew. This was one of my favourite coffee shops where I used to go to have a break and relax. It definitely turned out to be a big disappointment and I feel really sad to see this place turning into what it is now, specially turning into a...
Read moreRead moreI found this cafe through a recommendation from several blogs as "one of the nicest cafes to work from". So you imagine my expectation... I arrived early, ordered my (very overpriced btw) breakfast tabua + coffee + extra egg and pastel de Nata. Then got to open my notebook for a quick video meeting and - BAM the waiter comes running to me to say "no personal computers policy"! I asked why, he replied simply "it's our policy". Ofc I got angry, didn't mistreat the waiter (not his fault at all and he was very kind in general), but all I wanted to do was to stand up and leave. I just didn't do it because I already had half of the items on my table. So then I realized... another nice and simple cafe that just became a big touristic attraction. Loads of people were there around 11am just getting a table and taking pictures, it all made sense. Ofc they would prefer that more tourists come and pay their overpriced/not good at all coffee. Money above all... Anyway, I get it... you could have removed the sockets from the walls, not provide wifi, this way it would limit the number of digital nomads working from there for a long period. But not allowing people to open their personal computers??? This is a very odd and nonproductive policy! Anyway... I had the meeting on my work phone, thanks. And ran to leave the place as soon...
Extremely bland. If you didn’t come, don’t regret it.
I know a lot of people come here because 小紅書 or your IG reel recommended it. Our Lisbon trip formulated because of this very place. After seeing an IG reel with this place, my friends and I decided to come to Portugal for our next getaway.
There was a little wait, where the guy on the top floor counter make sure you do not go downstairs until there is space in the cafe. Once you go down, you’d find that the cafe provided an unobstructed view to the hilly Portugal scene with the church on top of the hill. It was decent, but nothing with the wow factor you’d expect from those influencer videos (we already catered our expectations for an online video, but it was still definitely overrated). The latte was the worst Ive ever had. It tastes like some stirred unpowered coffee beans with water and served it with milk. I’m not a picky coffee drinker, but I can tell this coffee was not meant to be sold as latte.
Come here just to say “you’ve been here”, and maybe get some half decent shots with the view. If your schedule doesn’t fit a visit here, skip it. You did not...
