O Covil — Restaurant in Lisbon

It's a welcome change to enter a place like this that feels authentic in its intent. The owners are truly passionate about the Celtiberian and pagan culture, and it really shows.

The space, the ales and wines; the delicious meats, cheeses and treats; the music; the overall warm and welcoming mood - it all transports you to an easier, more genuine time of clinking mugs filled to the brim, songs around the fire and people coming together.

All in all, an amazing spot to celebrate the Sabbats, to share a mead with a friend, or just to take a break from the city and replenish in a place that feels like home.

Plus, it's incredibly affordable, considering the quality they offer. I particularly recommend the Bafo do lobo (mulled wine), the grilled toasts and the incredible acorn brownie, served with crème fraîche and basil.

My only regret is not...

Nunca mais cá volto porque acho inadmissível a forma como fui tratado:

1 - éramos um grupo de 8 e sentamo-nos numa mesa no exterior.

2 - enquanto estávamos a consumir bebidas, pediram-nos para levar a nossa mesa para dentro. O que acedemos e inclusive ajudámos no transporte da mesa/bancos/copos.

3 - continuámos a consumir no interior.

4 - algumas das pessoas do grupo vieram para o exterior para fumar um cigarro e eu que estava a meio de uma conversa com os mesmos, acompanhei e trouxe o meu copo de cerveja acabado de pedir.

5 - enquanto eu, cliente pagante, estou a falar com outros companheiros sou rudemente interrompido para receber o primeiro (e único) aviso que me chegou: a indicar que não podia trazer o copo para o exterior. Esse aviso foi transmitido por parte da empregada/dona/gerente que estava ao serviço no dia 11/11. O "aviso", resumiu-se a falar por cima da conversa que eu estava a ter e de todas as que estavam a ocorrer no momento no exterior do bar.

6 - claramente entendi frustração nesta mensagem e percebi que a mesma já teria sido passada para outros companheiros, ou possivelmente para outros utentes do bar, é compreensível. Ainda assim, isso não dá o direito de ninguém tratar um cliente pagante desta forma. Sobretudo um cliente que acedeu a todos os pedidos que lhe tinham sido feitos até ao momento.

7 - perante o que aconteceu, basicamente fui "obrigado" a colocar imediatamente a cerveja numa mesa no interior para poder voltar cá para fora para continuar a conversa que estava a ter. Resultado: essa cerveja, inteira, acabada de pedir, foi recolhida por alguém e eu fiquei sem ela.

Como resumo, paguei três cervejas, bebi 2 e senti-me mal tratado. Está exposto o que achei incorreto na minha experiência neste bar e fica a garantia que não irei cá voltar!
