Truly disappointed by our experience. First off, the outside menu was never presented to us. Then we found the card to be really different than the suggestions we found online....expensive for Lisbon! We ordered the soup and tartar...they were ok. Soup was good and at reasonable price. A traditional dish at least. The steak tartar was ok, a bit mooshy and lacking flavor. The waitress was sweet and welcoming. I picked the pig dish - reasonably priced and lacking salt. It came with with a side dish which i found added to my bill in the end (and got reimbursed). I feel it should have come with both salad AND rice or fries. My partner's piedra was ok but we felt quantities were limited. 8 shrimps and approx 150g of red meat....in our country for that price we get double quantities...so quite disappointing again!!! My partner's fries quantity was so small he requested another ...well it was charged back to us €3.00.....which we thought was exaggerated!!! Then the wine list...well...no explanation of notes, pairing, regions....when mentioned I was told it is not done here. The waitress only explained the regions where each wine came from. We picked one...and it was very close to a bottle we got at ALDI, rated 92/100 for €6.99. We paid €25 for it. The dessert we did not even bother as there wasn't anything local /traditional... The overall experience was extremely disappointed for a receipt of 91 euros for 2... We both felt we should have gone to a small churrasqueria down the street which seemed so much better...i bet the food would have been better, in more quantities AND at a much reaonable price.
I am 45 years old, been leaving in France, Switzerland, USA and traveled all around the world...for over 25 years. This was truly a disappointing experience...a place for tourist which does NOT REPRESENT...
Read moreExcellent restaurant, both food and service. Had one of the best meals I've had in Lisbon. (you'll see I don't rate many places 5🌟)
Roberto the server was SO friendly and helpful. He sat me right under the AC unit and even turned it up since it was a very warm day.
He answered my questions about the dishes and assured me the black pig would not be over cooked (many restaurants here don't understand how to cook pork and they completely dry it out) It's a generous portion and was cooked to perfection.
I also had the black beans which were very good.
Prices are very reasonable, portions big and service excellent.
I wish Roberto could give classes on how to be a great server. He is friendly, mindful and attentive not doesn't hover.
I definitely recommend Vasku's and...
Read moreA fantastic place off the tourist tracks. Our waiter, Roberto, was amazing; taking the time to explain all the dishes. Looked after my husband as he is quite fussy and doesn’t eat cheese/garlic…(in Portugal?!!!) The food was truly amazing: first we had cured ham and a wonderful gooey cheese and olives. Then 3 of us had the steak and prawns on the stone; simply delish with 4 different types of salt(check out the red wine one!) and 4 sauces. The choc mousse was homemade and I loved the crème brûlée. Altogether an amazing, fun experience and quite cheap for the quality of food. Top place to go after our...
