Honestly, I don't understand how this place has a 4.9 rating. The restaurant is decorated with stereotypical, outdated furniture that feels more like a cliché of an Italian place you'd find in a rundown neighborhood. The menu is written in poor Italian and the waiters don’t even know how to properly pronounce Italian names. The food was underwhelming; pizzas arrived cold and lacked flavor, and the bruschetta was served on plain toast bread, which felt lazy. The service was confusing at best. It took ages for our food to arrive, and while we waited, we noticed that every other table seemed to be getting complimentary extras except us (the table next to us got 2 free focaccia and their pizza well before us, despite arriving after; another table got free ginja) It didn’t just seem that way; we’re sure of it.
Overall: long wait times, mediocre food, poor service, and a disappointing atmosphere. No idea where the glowing reviews are coming from.
(For context, I’m Italian, so I have a good sense of what authentic Italian food and hospitality should feel like.) Best of luck, maybe next time try treating everyone...
Read moreFantastisc Pizza and Risotto! Nice atmosphere! But sometimes I feel betrayed as a tourist. Ordered White wine 375ml mini bottle for 10€ as its mentioned on the menu. The waitress asked „a glass of white wine“. I said „No“ and pointed on the menu. „The 375ml bottle here“. However she brought a glass of white wine. I drank the wine, asked another time for the 375ml bottle. Got another glass of 200ml white wine. At the end I payed 8,5€ per glass (so 17€!!!) instead of 10€ for 375ml for what I ordered. A whole bottle would have been around 19/20€. I asked if it’s correct 8,5€ per glass. Yes it’s correct. The stuff asked how the experience has been. Said it’s Not okay to charge 8,5€ for a glass of white wine. „Thats the way“ was the response! Actually liked the food! But the people are not honest and just like to get you into their Restaurant for once. Shady Experience. Wouldnt recommend...
Read moreFood was ok, and the staff was friendly. But, there was foul play on the wine price. We were charged 30 euros for a bottle sold for 5.50 (you are welcomed to verify, the wine was - “Adega do moliero Branco”), and while it’s understandable to charge extra for a bottle of wine purchased in a restaurant, charging 6X the amount is borderline tourist fraud. Seeing our dissatisfaction they cutt off 5 euros from the price. I will definitely not return. UPDATE - post seeing this feedback and confronting with the facts the owner seems to think its ok to make poisonous remarks about my origin instead of taking accountability, so I will say that Portugal is great, we have been travelling here 2 weeks now and this is the only bad restaurant experience...
