First off, I have to say that I would normally not write a review, even if I had a bad experience somewhere it usually doesn't bother me as much that I have to write a review. Also, I completely understand that lots of reviews for nightclubs might be biased since drunk people are easily offended and the staff is just doing their job. However, the Rive Rouge nightclub is easily the worst nightclub in Lisbon and if I could have given zero stars I would have done so to warn the public about this place. We were three people and went to this club to stand quite some time in the queue. In line, we were finishing some drinks we got from a small store nearby. Finally, we were able to get to the first security line to show our covid certificates and advance further to the bouncers. When we got there, they firstly confirmed that our names are on the guest list. Then it was Carlos (the bald bouncer) time to shine. He gave us a lecture on how impolite it is to finish drinks in queue for a nightclub. Honestly, I have never experienced such an arrogant, insolent and rude bouncer as Carlos. After he redeemed himself with his speech about the drinks, he opened the barrier tape of the queue and told us to leave since we would not respect the club when we were finishing the drinks in the queue. Therefore, we waited a long time in the queue and weren't able to enter because of this bogus argument. Carlos is the worst and most arrogant bouncer I ever experienced and totally ruins this club. The club is the ultimate disappointment and you should avoid it...
Read moreThis is the worst place to party in Lisbon. We had a free ticket with a access until 2.00 am. After that we would have to pay 12€. we got to the place at 1.05 a.m. and when entering the place nobody told us anything, on the contrary, they all smiled and said to enjoy our night. We did not (nobody was there, probably a lot of people from Lisbon already know this is a place to avoid) , and after a couple of hours, as we were about to exiting the club, they asked us to pay 12€ even though we hadn’t consume any drink. When we tried to explain our situation, we didn’t even have a chance to do so as they started to get very aggressive, multiple bouncers approached us threatening our safety if we were not paying the amount. Honestly, I am quite shocked from this interaction.. it never happened to me in the past, and I really hope it won’t happen to anybody else. Eventually, we decided to pay the amount and get out from this toxic place.
To be transparent, I am quite sorry I have to write this review. As a avid traveler, I love to share nice experiences about my trips but is also my responsibility to save anybody else to live such a nightmare!! I wish you all a wonderful Lisbon experience, which will happen if you avoid...
Read moreWorst club ever! We went there for New Year’s Eve and 2 of my friends were not let in as the bodyguards said they were wearing turtlenecks. So, I went and tried to speak with them, but eventually, they didn’t allow my friends to get in even though they already had tickets. So, I told the bodyguards that if my friends were not let in, I would leave the club. And so, I did. I was in the smoking area and tried to get out by jumping over the barrier when two bodyguards literally grabbed me, threw me on the floor, and started punching and kicking me. Then, one of them grabbed me by the hair (I have long hair) while the other was holding me by my feet, and they brought me to the cashier and made me pay 50€. Honestly, I was even scared to call the police because they were gripping me so tightly that if I hadn't done what they said, I don't know how it would have ended. Now, I understand that I shouldn’t have jumped over the barriers to get out, but why do they have to react in this way? Why do they have to abuse their power in this manner? Now, I find myself with a black eye, a hematoma on my leg, and my head hurts really bad. These are not people. They are brutes! I will never ever step into this place again!...
