One of the older waiters was particularly rude. I had asked if they had a sugar free non alcoholic drink and they didn’t. He offered to make me a mocktails without added sugar but they still had juice, soda or other sugary things in them that I avoid for medical reasons so I said it was ok I’ll just have a water please. He repeatedly tried to get me to have a mocktail despite saying multiple times I wanted a water (I didn’t even ask for tap so was still spending money..). While continuing to take the order of the rest of the table he looked over to one of the other waiters, said something in Portuguese and made a hand gesture like he was dusting off his hands… it was really weird and felt aggressive. Even if he wasn’t talking about us this isn’t good service behaviour but from the feel of his sour mood, it did feel directed our way. None of us felt comfortable there after that and we all felt like the atmosphere was tense and uncomfortable. We drank our drinks ans quickly and possible and left. Unpleasant experience in an otherwise lovely neighborhood with other lovely bars and...

I stayed at their hotel some years ago when in Lisbon together and since then was in love with the restaurant too. Whenever we went to Lisbon we would have it on our must-do list. Last year during a 7 day stay we came over three times from Sintra to have some great food at Bica. This year when in Madera we planned a stopover in Lisbon for the weekend to make sure we can eat our favourite dishes - braised tuna, padrones, steak, soup, some of their great desserts. We never made it to desserts. We were with kids, everyone was hungry and all dishes, except for french fries served with steak were COLD!!! Braised tuna sliced (previously it came in one big chunk), two portions on one platter to be split - everything cold. Soup was cold, padrones were disastrous, steak and fries were the only hot ones served. When we told the waiter (different one than the one who made our stay so special every time), he said he did not know and he is sorry. Never made it to desserts. Paid and left and will probably not come back. A pity because it was a very special...

TOURIST SCAM BEWARE

Wanted to love this place so badly since it came recommended to us from our hotel. When we got here we were so happy as the ambiance on the terrace was so beautiful.

They started us out with bread and butter (as we've been served at every restaurant since arriving in Portugal) and we ordered cocktails. The food was great. My steak was slightly overdone but I don't tend to be picky when it comes to these things. The main problem was when we received the bill. We noticed that our server (older guy with glasses) had charged us 6 euros extra per drink which was the price of the premium drink and was very clearly not ordered and 10 euros for the bread and butter. I am not the type to say anything but 28 euro surcharge is absurd.

We mentioned the drinks as he returned and he immediately knew and went to go change it to what we had originally ordered. Overall, would have loved to recommend this restaurant to other friends that I know will be visiting the city this summer but it's very clear that they are simply trying to...

A magical evening in Lisbon 🍷🍰 If you ever find yourself in Lisbon, this restaurant is a must-visit! We had an absolutely amazing evening here. Everything was incredibly delicious, but the highlight was definitely the magical tuna steak — perfectly cooked, tender, and bursting with flavor. A big shoutout to our waiter Bruno, who had a fantastic sense of humor and kept us laughing throughout the night. He recommended their signature “super low-calorie” dessert (his words — with a wink!), which turned out to be unforgettable. If you go, do yourself a favor and order the chocolate cake — it’s worth every bite, calories be damned! We were also served by another cheerful waiter, Carlos, who added even more warmth and good vibes to our experience. Honestly, we felt so comfortable here — just like home. Highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Lisbon. Amazing food, great people, and a cozy atmosphere. We’ll definitely be coming back!

This is a gem if you are looking for a comfortable and sweet hotel, at a great location. The rooms are bright, clean and nicely decorated. Great beds. (I did miss a small fridge though.) The breakfast was wonderful as well. Great spread and wonderful to have it out on the terrace. (Since there is only four rooms you practically have the terrace to yourself.) We didn’t eat at the restaurant at night, and were out in the evening. But the guests there was no bother to us in our room (as long as we kept the windows shut). The only discouragement I will give is if you need to stay in the room a lot and want a view. The only windows face out on the terrace. So after 18 o’clock you will be watching the guests there, and they you.

This is the type of place you want to find as a traveling foodie. Doesn't look like much from the outside, doesn't look like much from the inside but they just keep bringing beautiful dish after dish from the kitchen. From the free bread, olives and tuna pate to the chorizo, stuffed portobello, prawns. It was all so delicious and reasonably priced. If you happen to be staying in one of the rooms they also provide a magnificent free breakfast.
