It started out well with a nice cheese board. Really friendly waiter and host.
When we wanted to order we were told that they didn't have the dish and that two others were also not on the card this evening. Would have been nice to know beforehand. My girlfriend took a couple of minutes and then decided on a different dish. It now turned out that they didn't have that one either and the waiter added a couple more dishes to the "not available list". That is just weird behavior and super annoying deciding on something you'd like only to be told "ah ah can't have it".
She ended up ordering the tofu and I got a beef mignion. And to be fair my beef was great.
Her tofu on the other hand was the dullest most uninspiring dish I've ever tasted. It was a small serving of a pan fried fast marinated tofu "beef" cut in slices straight out of the package. It was like the chef had never eaten tofu nor did he want to try it. So why offer it on the menu? If you can't cook vegan/vegetarian and don't want to, then don't pretend - it's just rude. Anyone can fry some vegetables on a pan and pour soy over a piece of tofu but that's not why you go fine dining. That is to experience something new and get inspiration.
We liked the place and we tried hard to enjoy the food but it simply wasn't okay. If I could give 2 1/2 I would do that but this evening there were simply too many mistakes and unfulfilling choices compared to the pricing and what they seemingly strive for at...
Read moreWe booked through The Fork for a 50% discount, only to be told it only applied to the “first 10 customers” – which wasn’t stated anywhere. Even worse, we were seated before others who got served and left before us, yet told we weren’t eligible because our food (which took over an hour) came late. (Over an hour)
The food was cold, lamb was dry, octopus was okay at best.
When we asked to speak with the manager, he didn’t even bother showing up—he called in, and what followed was one of the most appalling conversations we’ve ever had in a restaurant. He was instantly combative, rude beyond belief, and acted like we were the problem for even asking about the discount. It quickly escalated into a shouting match, all because he refused to take any accountability or show an ounce of respect.
But what really disgusted us was how he treated Genny—this poor woman, who was nothing but respectful and polite throughout, was publicly humiliated by him over the phone. He berated her so harshly, she was on the verge of tears right in front of us. It was genuinely upsetting to watch, and it speaks volumes about what kind of...
Read moreWe made a reservation at this restaurant to celebrate Christmas, after reading the positive reviews. A huge mistake!
The owner /most was the rudest I ever encountered and I have been to many places around the world and all types of restaurants.
From the beginning, it was a disaster. -Unfriendly welcome -No menu or asking for a drink till 20min later -2 waiters that try their best but without leadership then it is normal that the boat will sink -They forgot our drinks so we needed to ask again for the twice -When we asked about our food to the owner(After over an hour of waiting ) they realized that they forgot to put our starter on the order, he started snapping his fingers at us and said: what do you want?
Then I realized that it was not a point to discuss with him. If he treats guests like animals then hope is gone.
The food was ok msyve, they brought the cheese(our starter) after the main course. avoid the cheese, it was not special at all.
The only rescatable thing was the dessert.
Avoid this place they are many places in Lisboa with proper service and...
