La P'tite Vague, Restaurant Brunch,Café, lunch, Pâtisseries, glaces — Restaurant in Nazaré

Food is tasty but staff (cook included) is racist. Super disappointed because this restaurant has such great reviews. I requested a croissant meal and was told there was one croissant left. When the European woman asked for this same croissant they told me it was no longer available for me. I can’t help but to wonder if my Blackness was a factor in their refusal to serve me. Added to this, my husband and daughter and I were waiting an hour for a table and asked for hot water while we were waiting. We waited and waited, and saw that a group of travelers (non-black) who arrived 45 minutes after us received espressos and coffees. I know it takes longer to make those than to bring cups of water. I was told that there was covert (and sometimes overt) racism in Portugal, but I did not expect to experience it on a casual vacation day. It was important for me to write this review to warn other travelers of color, so you are aware and hopefully choose a different restaurant where you will be treated with dignity and equality.

We were in Nazare for 2 nights. The first morning we were searching for place to have have breakfast by google rating. This place have a french atmosphere (simple, but decored with taste). Also typical french dishes: croissants with different options inside and omelette.

The first day I was hungry and took 2 dishes for myself (myself and croissants). That was a lot of food - but very tasty. My wife had croissant also. We also get a coffee (double espresso and americano). Food is amazing! Coffee is regular (maybe Lavazza - nothing special, so do not expect a lot from it)

Also we liked services. Waitress was very pleasant. The next day we came he also remembered us. For me it is important that when I return, personel knows me. Looks like this is family owned french lace with great taste.

Absolutely recommend it! Becuase of friendliness and good food we had brunch here during all our shirt stay without desire to find smth else.

P. S. Dessert is also great! Also it is just near the beach, so it is adding up to the great atmosphere to have brunch...

We came back from.our holiday two weeks ago. But I have been meaning to write this review. Myself and my partner, after visiting this cafe once, kept going back. The owner was lovely, as were her staff. All the food and drinks were delightful. Once we discovered this delightful French gem nowhere else could compare. We had coffees, juice, she made me a much even though it wasn't on the menu, we selected different breakfasts each day, a favourite of mine was the salmon croissant but everything was wonderful. Food well presented too. Loved the patel de nata. Tasty tasty. Would highly...
