Stopped here on our way to the Algarve. A good quality restaurant if you're looking for something different from your typical Portuguese cuisine. Not your usual home made food or churrasco type cuisine. Clean and well maintained baby change facilities which are on a different floor from the restaurant but there is a lift for ease of access. There's a children's menu but beware it's a set menu (with drink and ice cream) so if you have a young toddler (our LG is 1) make sure you're getting your money's worth by ordering the extras for yourself if the baby is unable to drink/eat them. The staff didn't inform of this and we spotted it as we were leaving. They kindly deducted a drink but as we were in a hurry we didn't have the ice cream as there was no take away option for that. We had some cod fishcakes to start which came with a lovely green sauce. And the meat croquettes were tasty with a mustard sauce. We had the steak, sea bream (which came with a cuttlefish ink pasta accompaniment which was a delicious surprise) a hamburger and the octopus. Would recommend again for those looking for something different from the usual...
Read moreI stayed one day and one night in Fatima and am very glad I chose this restaurant for an early dinner. I reserved for 5 pm on a Sunday and there was lots of room, unfortunately this restaurant closes at 6 pm every day and the kitchen closes at 5:30 pm. I would have preferred coming in the evening (after 7pm). The service was very friendly and the seating very comfortable too. The restaurant is nicely decorated and has a nice view to the outside (no terrace, only downstairs in the cafe). I ordered a glass of red wine which was nice and the slow cooked duck leg with mushrooms and rice, it was divine! Very flavourful dish, duck was nicely cooked and tender and the creamy mushroom rice was wonderful. I was quite full after this dish so was unable to order dessert! I highly recommend you try Casa Plátano when in Fatima, it was the highlight of my day...
Read moreI had a fantastic experience at Casa Platano Restaurante! The meal started with a fish soup that was a delightful surprise, boasting a light texture and rich flavors that danced on the tongue, thanks to its varied ingredients. Although I forgot to specify how I wanted my sirloin steak cooked and it came well-done instead of medium-rare, it was still quite enjoyable. However, the real standout was the chickpea fries — crispy on the outside and soft inside, perfectly balanced in taste. The ambiance is relaxed with great lounge music, enhancing the clean and welcoming environment. The staff were exceptionally friendly. A small suggestion for improvement would be to ensure that staff ask how guests prefer their steak cooked. Highly recommended for a pleasant dining experience with...
