There is 1 elevator that is accessible to guests, therefore, check-in was easy, but getting to the room with everyone arriving on tour took 20+ minutes. The shower stall [no bath] was short of a square meter, therefore, beware if you are a bit more round than tall. I woke up with a migraine and needed nourishment to keep it at bay. My wife and I sat down with a very meager plate in a dining room that had been near empty and the manager proceeded to kick us out, because the night before, without any warning, the telephone rang in our room and we were not consulted, just TOLD that our reservation was now @ 8 am. No manners, just an order. The manager was rude and angry when he found us, and made us feel as if we had crossed some imaginary line! Last I looked, hotels are there to serve their customers; had the manager been just straight forward or [god forbid] polite, I would have explained the situation - no chance of that. Nowhere have I ever felt more uncomfortable with the meager service and the unsolicited changes. There are many, many hotels in Fatima, as during holier days, they could be booked solid with no tents to rent, but this was not high season. I would imagine that many devout catholics would dream of such accommodations upon arrival, but we were just looking for a one-night visit. If ever you are in Fatima, beware of hyper-vigilant staff who seem to feel that they are doing us a huge favour by accepting our money and allowing us to eat. Wouldn't go back were they to send me the airfare and...
Read moreThe location is great. Our room is facing the street but very quiet at night.
But I truly don't know how the average review rating could be 4.5 because our entire group was complaining the next morning. The water temperature was lukewarm, too cold to take a shower. My room hairdryer stopped working after 10 seconds. It needed to rest for 5 minutes before running for another 10 seconds. The maintenance guy came with another wet haired guest, so the hairdryer issue was not an isolated case in my room. He looked around and said he could not find a reset button. Therefore, there was nothing he could do. I ended up leaving the hotel with wet and messy hair. The electric wire under my desk was exposed, very unsafe.
Staff was professional but smileless and unfriendly. It seemed to me that our group was more of an inconvenience to them. During breakfast time, we were told to sit only in one area. But the mannerism from the staff felt insulting, like we were sheeps needed to be fenced in, as if we would cause discomfort to other hotel guests. So we all squeezed into one another, so tight that some chairs could not be moved, but the other half the room stayed empty, neatly looking back at us, not to be touched. The entire breakfast time, there were, in fact, only three people who were not with our group. We were so unhappy about our stay that several of us assigned me to...
Read moreWe stayed in this hotel for 2 nights and we had requested for 2 single beds and they gave us a double bed, rooms are very small, the front desk trainee staff was very rude and not helpful at all, she didn’t not great us at all, she wouldn’t even speak, or smile, it felt like she wasn’t happy at her job, she didn’t have us any information, I felt like I was the one working there, very rude person. The breakfast was a disaster, they don’t have much choice at all and I asked for gluten free bread and they said I would have to request for it and no one told me I would have to do such thing. I forgot my retainers there at the hotel and I called back asking if they would have seen it and they told me that person items they always put in the bin, great so becaurful with your stuff as they would throw it away, I had to pay €200 for a new retainers, thanks Coração de...
