This new owner is ruining the restaurant’s reputation. I’ve been a loyal customer for over five years, and here’s what I’ve observed:
First, they drastically cut down the number of staff, overloading the remaining employees—who are likely still earning the same salary. Naturally, this has affected both the service and the atmosphere.
Then, they brought in a number of new hires who seem to lack both experience and professionalism. To make matters worse, the manager appears to be doing everything at once—greeting customers at the door, serving tables, and even cooking in the kitchen. It’s completely inefficient, and frankly, his attitude is far from welcoming. He doesn’t seem fit to manage a team, as he treats his staff with clear arrogance and condescension.
From a customer’s point of view, the restaurant has only gone downhill. Portions are smaller, service is worse, and prices have gone up dramatically—some dishes by 50%, others by nearly 100%, with no reasonable explanation. To show this clearly, I’m posting photos of the menu from earlier this year and from this week.
At the end of the day, it feels like the new owner is simply trying to make a quick profit—without any real understanding of how to run a restaurant. If this continues, the staff will leave, loyal customers will stop coming, and the business will eventually...
Read moreI came here with a group of friends after finding the restaurant on The Fork.
For appetizers, we tried the provolone cheese with francesinha sauce (a surprisingly good combination), the garlic shrimp, and the padrón peppers—all decent but nothing outstanding.
For mains, we had a mix: • The codfish with greens was excellent—the best dish of the night. • The parmigiana was a big disappointment, with chicken so tough it was difficult to cut and chew. • The risotto with truffles and mushrooms was nice, but paired with the entrecôte, which was not very good. • The beef Wellington was another miss—the meat wasn’t great, the pastry was damp, and the mashed potatoes (which I don’t like anyway) didn’t help.
So, overall, the codfish and risotto were good, but the meat dishes were below average.
Desserts, on the other hand, were a highlight: the Nutella cookie was amazing, the eton mess was interesting, the panagiota was really good, and the fondant was also nice.
The service was very nice—our waiter was friendly and attentive. But even with a 30% Fork discount, the meal felt too expensive for the quality of most of the food.
I might return for the codfish, risotto, and desserts, but definitely not for the...
Read moreWe popped in for dinner based on the menu being extensive and inexpensive and could not have been happier.
The service from start to finish was so friendly and helpful particularly with wine choices.
We chose a wine and were advised it was rather heavy. We were then allowed to taste the wine selected along with another lighter wine.
The type of service is exemplary and I was blown away as the lady serving us was correct and we went with the lighter wine.
We ate the cheese board and simple omelettes as we were not too hungry.
All of the food was presented really well and tasted great. The omelettes were light and not greasy. We really enjoyed all the food.
We then finished with a Taylors LBV port from 2013 which was utterly delicious.
Super service, super food and...
