Having lived in Japan for ten years and my wife being Japanese we really wanted some good quality sushi. The food that we did get was nice however the portions were tiny. Normal sushi was half the size of anything we have had before, the yakitori was also tiny, maybe a mouthful across two skewers. Edamame we got about 15, yakibosa was a portion for one at the most. Overall despite the food we got tasting good we spent 88euros for a family of four and were nowhere near full and had to go elsewhere for a second dinner. Service was robotic, slow and awkward. Despite only two tables in the food was given to the wrong table. We tried to order by food name but waiter didn’t have a clue and needed the number. Overall Far too overpriced and trying to be posher than it is with such an Abundance of cheap, fresh seafood at hand. My Advice would be make the atmosphere more relaxed (it was silent, so felt very awkward especially with staff who did not communicate at all) and give bigger portions for same price then customers will leave happy....

An absolute hidden gem in Porto

Myself and my partner spent a month in Porto and walked passed this spot many times, not noticing it. I’m so glad that we found it on our last day, my only regret is that it was not sooner. We eat sushi a lot and the sushi here was nothing short of exceptional!

The interior is gorgeous, with stone walls, brilliant lighting and gold chopsticks, the owners certainly have an eye for detail.

The service was fantastic, as soon as one plate was finished the next was brought out.

The only thing I couldn’t understand was how the place wasn’t busier, which I can only put down to the fact that it’s in a basement, requiring you to descend a flight of stairs from the unassuming shop front.

A must go for all sushi fans, we will certainly be back on our next...

My visit to Itachi Sushi was good, but could have been better. The food was excellent. What the people in charge need to work on is the service. Already when I stepped in, I noticed how "serious" everybody looked. If you could put on a smile once in a while, that would make your guests feel at ease. When ordering the food, I asked if Ramen or hot pot was on the menu. I then asked if there was a Ramen with meat and I was told there was. When I ordered the dish that was recommended to me, I received the bowl with meat you see below in my picture. I didn't complain, and ate it because it was stilll quite nice. But I originally had asked for something completely different. Anyway, technically, I would give this venue 3.5 stars, because of the lack of service...

We had the New Year’s Eve dinner here and it was horrible. The Udon noodles were cold. The soup tasted strange and nasty. They seemed to put water in their soy sauce. The sangria is also a watered down version of—one can hardly taste the alcohol in it. The sashimi and sushi tasted ok, but one roll tasted strange. Worst of all, they put a sake glass with the sashimi and sushi dishes, with sake-looking liquid in it. We thought it was sake for New Year’s Eve, since the restaurant we ate yesterday served grappa to all guests. Fortunately it didn’t smell very good so we didn’t drink it. It turned out to be rubbing alcohol and they put burn it to make a flame, but our waitress forgot to put the flame on. Not to mention the service is not good and slow.
