My husband and I had a spectacular dining experience here for our 10th wedding anniversary! We were so glad to have found such a gorgeous restaurant to celebrate at.
My husband had the Iberian beef with truffle puree and I originally ordered the monkfish and prawn caldoso. When my dish came, however, I found that some of the rice was undercooked and as a result, was unpleasant to eat due to some of the grains still being hard. I brought this to the attention of our servers and they were apologetic and offered to switch out my dish. I decided to have the same beef dish as my husband and it was amazing. We both loved it, the meat was very tender and the puree was an unbelievably creamy, almost mousse-like consistency.
Despite the little hiccup with the caldoso, I believe it was a one-off error that sometimes happens with cooking this type of rice dish. Otherwise, the flavours in the caldoso were actually really tasty. I was very happy with how graciously the staff handled my issue with the dish and given how impressive the rest of the food was, I don’t have any complaints.
At the end of the meal, they also comped our drinks, which we were very appreciative of. We were taken care of by Artur and Thelma that night and the service they provided was fantastic.
This stunning restaurant is perfect for a special occasion and the prices are fair for the quality of food and the service. I can’t wait to come back and I would 100% recommend this...
Read moreMy wife and I had dinner here on May 12th of this year. The scallop appetizer was excellent, and my turbot was also excellent as was the wine. However, my wife distinctly did not enjoy her monk fish with a large shrimp and Spanish rice. (Perhaps she should have said something and returned it to the kitchen.) We were staying at this hotel (One Shot Palacios), and so had a complimentary glass of ruby port in the lounge before dinner. The breakfasts here were superb. The dining room straight out of Versailles (literally, copied by the original owner of the estate)--large room, high ceilings, giant French doors, mirrors, chandeliers, and so on (see photograph)--was wonderful to be in. The atmosphere and service were excellent. Tiago, from the hotel staff, came in to say goodbye to us and wish us a safe journey home, knowing that we would be leaving the next day when he would be off. Overall, a very nice, friendly,...
Read moreA hidden gem!! This restaurant, within the Hotel One Stop, is something special. The dining room is in a simply beautiful setting. The food and the service are equally really excellent. There is a quiet elegance about all aspects of the restaurant. We only found out about the restaurant in the last two days of our holiday and we were staying in the hotel!! After trying it, we returned the next evening as well - it was so good. Try it, you will not be...
