Update 7/15: I finally tried this restaurant today. The seating is spacious and bright with natural light. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The food is mainly sharing dishes with small and medium sizes and the waiter will explain to you at the beginning. All the dishes I ordered were quite good and had their own unique flavors. It's a good restaurant to share with friends and family, but I don't know if I'll return in the future. Also after my first experience. So this time, I confirmed my reservation with The fork 3 days before and the same problem happened again, but I was able to change the reservation time because I found out in advance. In the end I paid more than 50 EUR without any discounts which I wouldn't say it is really cheap, I think maybe the owner should have a bit details since last time they didn't receive us when we had 30% discount. This is just my opinion, of course the owner can decide how they want to run the business. --------------------------------- We came to have lunch here today, May 25, at 12:00 PM. I made the reservation long time ago (20th of April) and they sent me a reconfirmation email before our arrival. When we arrived, the restaurant was closed. No one called or send an email to warn us in advance. Then I checked their Google Maps prodile and could see that they had updated their opening schedule the previous week. I think this is really rude and irresponsible, it really ruined the experience when you visit Porto. When we planned our trip well in advance to have wonderful experience, but this restaurant ruined it. Btw the owner called to apologize at 13:15 which is the basic thing they can do now after all the mess. So I will give them 2 Star instead of 1 Star because of this reason.

Fantastic experience, the best food I can remember having anywhere. Consistently excellent throughout the meal and personal experience with the head chef involved with service. Must try place - book a table if you're in Porto! We didn't book but they were able to seat us as we arrived earlier than most and plenty were turned away. They explained the menu, concept and helped with recommendations. The Bimis (tempura brocolini and sriracha mayonnaise) was fresh, salty and a perfect first plate. The "Wellington" de Morcela (blood sausage, scallion and pork jus) was rich, hearty and perfectly balanced with roasted baby onions and pickled mustard seeds. We then had the Sarda Escabechada (mackerel, beetroot and ajo Blanco) which was delicious; a silky white wine sauce with a subtle garlic undertone, tasty beetroot and fresh mackerel with a pickle flavor to cut right through. To end the mains there was the Bochecha (pork cheek and potato and leek cream), which was frankly perfect. Everything you want in a cheek dish. To end we had to have what the chef described as the best thing he's ever made: Pão-de-ló (a simple cake-type dish with goats cheese ice cream). It was the perfect end to the meal: sweet, soft base that was like thin, freshly cooked blondie with a goats cheese ice cream, olive oil and sea salt. We drank the white wine by the glass, and the bill was very, very reasonable. There is no way I could have made the experience better. The team are really proud of what they are doing (rightly so), change the menu every two months, and are expanding the restaurant into a patio area at the back soon. I would definitely go back whenever I come to Porto and would recommend it to anyone.

The waiter was super friendly, the food was very good overall. The pork belly was one of the best cooked meats I've ever had! So silky smooth it's insane. All of the dishes we tried were very good. Two things bothered me a little bit though. The cod fish was perfectly cooked, but served with the skin and covered with sauce. If fish is served with skin I'd like to have it fried crispy and plated on top of the sauce to keep it crispy. Having fish skin in the sauce makes it a bit soggy and not fine dining level in my opinion. Also I think the plating would be even more beautiful if you had the crispy skin on top, and the fish visually in the centre. Another thing that bothered us a little bit is that they did not change our plates between dishes. The first dishes were fine with the same plate, but we did not want to waste these grate tastes by eating a meat main dish from a plate we just ate a fish dish. We had to ask them to change the plates, which they gladly did, but it's just something I would not expect to be the case in a restaurant with a food of this quality. Overall a very good dinner, worth the price, but these small issues makes me rate the place at 4 stars instead of 5. Not having these issues it would definitely be 5/5.

Patio 44 is an absolute delight that has left me speechless with its exceptional dining experience. From start to finish, my visit here was nothing short of extraordinary.

The ambiance of Patio 44 is both inviting and elegant, striking a perfect balance between comfort and sophistication. The interior exudes a warm and welcoming atmosphere that sets the stage for a wonderful meal.

Now, let's talk about the food. Oh my goodness, where do I even begin? The menu boasts a tantalizing array of dishes that cater to various palates. From the moment the first dish arrived at our table, I knew we were in for something special. Each plate is a masterpiece, beautifully presented and bursting with flavors that dance on your taste buds.

The freshness of the ingredients used is palpable in every bite. The attention to detail and the careful consideration of flavours truly set Patio 44 apart. Whether you're a seafood enthusiast, a meat lover, or a vegetarian, there's something here that will leave you craving more.

The staff at Patio 44 deserve special commendation. Their warmth, knowledge, and genuine passion for providing a remarkable dining experience are evident in every interaction. From helping us navigate the menu to offering impeccable wine pairings, they elevated our evening to new heights.

And let's not forget the desserts! The sweet offerings at Patio 44 are a fitting grand finale to an already memorable meal. It's safe to say that the chef's creativity knows no bounds, and the result is an array of desserts that are as visually stunning as they are delectable.

In conclusion, Patio 44 is a culinary haven that stands out in a dynamic restaurant landscape. It's a place where you can celebrate special occasions, enjoy intimate dinners, or simply treat yourself to an extraordinary meal. My experience here was nothing short of magical, and I can't wait to return to explore more of their culinary delights. Kudos to the entire team for creating such a masterpiece!

Highly, highly...
