So grateful to have discovered this little gem. This kind of authentic restaurant has become rarer in Porto over the last years.
What makes it so special, besides the fantastic food, is the fact that Miguel runs this restaurant as a one-man show. He stands behind the kitchen and serves all the tables. Dinner started with a delicious fish soup, and then I chose the “polvo cozido” (boiled octopus), which was super fresh and delicious. For dessert I chose the “pudim” which was also delicious!
I will definitely be back. Don’t be set back by the 60-70’s style interior design. The food is authentic, everything homemade and fresh for very fair prices.

Read moreBest meal we’ve had in Portugal so far. Really hearty, humble and homey food. A one man show where the friendly chef explained he freedives and spearfishes seafood to cook dishes for guests (say what?!) - the special today was the octopus he caught himself.
They’re only open on Fridays and Saturdays, make a reservation and go for it. My boyfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed all dishes (we tried 75% of the menu.. and happily rolled out of the restaurant). The fish soup was so amazing, that I ordered it twice.

Had to convince my friends to get the fish and everyone said it was their favorite soup they’ve had.) we got two different types of pork and octopus, plus a lush bottle of wine.
