Fado Vitória no Porto — Attraction in Porto

This wonderful Fado performance is at the historic Monastery in the Porto historic district near the top of a steep hill so be aware. It starts with a shot of Benedictine liqueur and a great tour and history of the Monastery and Church. Then we moved to a side chapel with a huge vault ceiling for the authentic Fado performance. There were two period guitars and excellent players plus a very talented singer. The music was beautiful and the acoustics were incredible It was fun although we didn't really understand the Portuguese words! We were treated to a glass of Reserve Port. The team that conducts the event is friendly and helpful. We highly recommend this...

The best thing on this tour is the lady who was our tour guide on saturday evening and explained us everything about monastery with so much enthusiasm that even if you are not familiar with art you will be listening carefully. Fado was ok, but after this lady tour guide and her energy on the tour both on portugues and english, she made that monastery tour is more important and more interesting than the fado 🙂 10...

I loved learning about the monastery and its history… and regarding the concert - there are no words to describe the enormous talent of the performers - the singer and both musicians were so moving and engaging.
