From authentic Pakistani Restauranteers- who have a Lisboa location as well. ( that sadly had an exhaust fire, & will be open again-InShallah) this Restaurante makes very savory & perfectly spiced Authentic Pakistani Food.
The Chicken BOTI is THE BOMB💥 The Boneless Skinless Chicken Thigh’s are bathed in a marinade’s, so perfectly-crafted. The recipe of the marinade is (typically) a mixture of Buttermilk, Garlic/Ginger/Lemon/White Pepper/Fresh Chili’s/Cilantro & Cumin? (& other Top Secret Ingredients) that are allowed to bathe with the Chicken for 24 hours- ensuring a great BOTI flavor. Finally, grilled over wood charcoal for that authentic taste! 💥💣💥
My Dal Fry was well-spiced, but (Sadly) undercooked with the lentils served not-soft-enough, “missing”-were the “squiggly-worm-lookin’-Carmelized-onions” 🪱, that so define this unique version of typical Indian dal; and help to transform a humble Legume to a higher plane.
We also ate their “Mutton Curry”- which had a great flavor profile, yet- they chose to use, quite chewy OLD Lamb/not as enjoyable to eat as fresh baby lamb is!
Garlic nan was well prepared.
Note: They are not dog-friendly, but not everyone is a Dog lover.🤷🏽♂️
Overall not-quite 5-Stars🤔… but with Ali’s supervision I would give them another try- soon. WELCOME to Porto &...
Read moreI recently visited this restaurant, and overall, I was disappointed with the experience.
While the honey chicken was tasty and the plain naan was decent, the other dishes fell short of expectations. The cheese naan and garlic naan were underwhelming.
The nihari lacked flavor—it was bland, undersalted, and not spicy as it should be. Additionally, the meat was not tender. Similarly, the mutton with white sauce was disappointing; the meat was tough, and the sauce was also under-seasoned.
The overall meal left me with slight acidity, which only added to the discomfort.
For the price we paid—nearly €50—the quality and portions did not justify the cost. The portions were small, and the dishes often contained large bones with very little meat. The only dish that stood out positively was the honey chicken, which was well-portioned and flavorful.
As for the drinks, the mango lassi was fine, but the sweet lassi was too watery, resembling plain milk rather than a proper lassi.
We didn’t bother ordering desserts since we were already disappointed by the main courses.
There’s significant room for improvement in both the quality and flavor of the food. At this price point, I expected...
Read moreMost of the "Indian" restaurants in the west are owned or run by Bangladeshis, mainly from two districts Sylhet and a neighbouring one. It is truly a british imagination of what Indians eat..when i am in India, the menus seem very different from the western indian restos. this little take out/sit down , run by pakistanis is full of energy and i ordered chicken karahi and the waiter was kind enough to recommend a less hot on the palate variety. The cheese naan was tasty also and nice to wash it down with a Sweet Lassie. Kudos to the portuguese govt in welcoming these young men from the subcontinent who are uber drivers, food delivery people and also run nepal/india/pakistan restaurants. The service was excellent, and ayush from west of nepal was accomodating and kind. Every one wanted to talk about Fidel! the great leader of Cuba. I will be meeting up with Cuban and Iranian students in the region and i would be recommending this food to them, even though both migh find the dishes a tad hot. Obrigado and...
