Read moreThis is a NO CASH market, bring a credit card! Be advised, this is a wonderful addition to the city of Porto, providing great food options at tourist pricing.
We visited on day 2 of operation. It was much busier than I anticipated, however there were minimal waits for anything. They have an amazing crew cleaning tables as soon as people are finished to make room for new guests.
They had a great variety of food options, including vegetarian.
The prices are tourist prices, so they are very high for locals. But, since we are expats living in Porto, we are used to high prices in America. Although this is a place we probably won't visit much unless we have out-of-town visitors we are entertaining.
Please be advised, this market is a NO CASH market. Use your Visa card or MBWay.
They have enough space that they can hold concerts or open air markets in the future, so I look forward to seeing how they utilize the space they have.
A total let down, was the employees smoking at the entrance, it's just tacky. Like everything in Portugal, signage is just about non-existing. Since it is new, you just have to know it's here. Good luck!
If you need an alternative to TimeOut, Mercado Bom Sucesso also offers an amazing indoor food market. Perfect for rainy days or days where it's just too hot. Both markets are a great option for larger groups who just cannot agree on one cuisine. Bom Sucesso...

I arrived in a great mood at this place, hungry, ordered a burger in “Brusco Burger”, got a number, sat down next to the café, and waited for my number to be called. After half an hour, I went to check with the administrator about my order. He pointed to a burger that, apparently, had been sitting there for a long time waiting for me. The appetizingly melted cheese was calling me to eat it, but it turned out that it was, so to speak, frozen on the burger. I politely asked to heat the burger, as it turned out that the button didn’t work and the burger and I missed each other. They refused my request, said I was wrong, and didn’t believe me. But then, after checking my button in front of me, they realized that the button indeed didn’t work. The administrator went somewhere, and I was left waiting at the table for a resolution. Burgers were spinning in my eyes. Another half hour later, I realized that no one was planning to solve my issue, no one apologized, and they didn’t refund my money. After an hour of waiting, I had to leave because I was too weak from hunger to make a scene. I used my remaining strength to crawl to the nearby train station to satisfy my hunger with a Pastel (thanks to their excellent service). The sandwich gave me strength, and I decided to make...
