This was the first place we came when arriving in Portugal. Everybody recommended to try first the famous local dish “francesinha”. Me and my boyfriend we ordered two of them and it was good, big and Ok. I suggest to try it since everybody will recommend it to you, not sure if I would like to repeat it though (maybe I prefer a delicious octopus or cod next time).

I found the price a bit high, 9.5 euros, for a kind of sandwich with sauce , THOUGH, this is the price across all places in the city. In my opinion maybe is worth to get and try other dishes for less. The beer (choppe) was really good and what I loved about this place was that it was full of local people and local coworkers.

We sat in a small table but great to enjoy and view the people from the city...

First of all, you must not go there. We went to this restaurant at 9 pm on a Saturday night. The terrace was full and the daily menu did not look too bad. The service was non existent and we found a table ourselves. The menu was written on a cheap made card where the foil already came of. The Codfish with Onion sauce was nothing more than deep fried fish with breadcrumb breading and chunks of onions. The twist was thereby that all fishbones were still included. I had sea bream which was served with almost raw fries and soaked salad. The vegetable lasagna was without taste and greasy.

You should definitely walk on and save yourself some trouble.

Seriously,...

This place is a scam, I don’t recommend it. I ordered a sandwich and an orange juice ( the food 3/10 ) The problem started when I wanted to pay. The fake „friendly” staff disinformed me - said that I can pay with card when I asked before ordering but then while paying it was a problem to pay 4.70 € with card, so I said ok then charge me 5 €( which is already not fair and probably against the law) Surprisingly both of my cards didnt work (weird right? Just before they did ) and I had to go to ATM and withdraw money that cost me sooo much more than this food. So the waiters are nice but only if you pay a lot, they are just...

The tripe and the octopus (two separate dishes) were just perfect. Brought me back to childhood and my grandpa making them to perfection. Incredibly nice staff and the place just looks amazing. Decorated with lots of classic things like old irons, sewing machines, decorated dishes, etc. There's coins all over the walls, I didn't ask what was the story behind that but it was a cool touch too. Can't recommend this enough. I will be coming back here many times for the tripe, although to be honest every single dish they got out of the kitchen looked fantastic, so most likely the tripe won't be only thing I'll have.

The food is tasty but the service is lacking. I was there two times, and during the first I thought that the personnel was extremely rude. During the second time here, the waiter was a young boy and was very helpful, however we waited a lot until someone came to get our order. There was a young woman that looked at us but didn't bother to come and at least give us the menu. I had to go and get it myself from the stand they were placed on.
