I came to get a snack at the cafe. I asked for something vegetarian but received an empanada with meat. However there was a misunderstanding.
I was hungry and since I don’t eat meat I tried to exchange the food. Unfortunately the way I was treated was super rude. They told me they would have to pay the rent of the place and the ingredients for making the food and the hours of work they put in, which is obvious but doesn’t justify the disrespectful tone. Basically I got send off after they asked me if I wanted to give it back without any exchange. At the end I payed quite a lot, almost 7€ for a coffee and a meat snack which I couldn’t eat.
In my opinion misunderstandings are happening and it should be on the service side to find a solution and to not treat their customers in such an unfriendly way. I’m a really tolerant person and believe that there is always a solution for both sides. But this behavior is not acceptable.
I really hope if this is happening to you again in the future, you’ll at least offer a banana and speak in a respectful tone with...
Read moreI was intrigued by the good reviews and I have to be honest. This is such a disappointment, when you expect a nice cosy Café. This is not more than a simple take away shop for baked goods near the train station. Today at 4pm, they were already out of all sandwiches and toasts. I could only order displayed cold baked goods. Then, I reveived a spoon along my hot chocolate that looked as it had already been used. The toilet was really small and dirty. The place is also very tiny with the door open next to the street/train station. It was not cosy or pleasant to stay there at all and I left as soon as I drank/ate up. So, don't expect a nice Café to chill for afternoon tea/coffee! In my opinion, it is just a convenient bakery to grab some stuff when you're coming/going to the train station. But I give 2 stars for the hot chocolate, that...
Read moreCa.fe Coffee House is a conveniently located espresso bar and cafe on Ave. Dr. Miguel Bombarda just across from rail station. It is perfectly situated for those arriving or waiting to depart from Sintra. Inside seating area is fairly small with just a handful of tables, there is an outside table as well.
We stopped here during our recent trip to Sintra for a quick coffee and lite breakfast. Everything served was just fine, coffee was solid, ham and cheese sandwich and Queijada just fine. We were also thankful for the polite and patient service, staff seemed to treat everyone the same, be you a local or tourist. Just a good little place all the way around, would happily stop here again during future...
