This is our favorite bar in Tomar, in large part because they have Estrella Damm's main four beers on tap, including our favorite - Bock Damm. (When ordering, just ask for "preta", which means 'black (beer)' and Bock Damm is what you'll get. Although it's dark, it's a lager, so not nearly as heavy as a brown, porter, or stout. We find its malty toastiness to be great both in winter and summer.)
This is Estrella Damm, which is very good, and not to be confused with Estrella Galicia, which is a terrible beer. (I'm an international beer judge...so yes, I've had a pint or two in my day.)
They also have a good selection of Barona beer, which is one of the best artisinal breweries in Portugal.
Additionally, the owner Lourenço is very nice (and is an artisanal beer fan), there is both inside and outdoor seating, and although it's limited, what we have had off the food menu (including the tacos!) is quite good. They also usually have either sports on the TV or are playing good music.
We have also enjoyed steaks and other treats off their outside grill during September, including corn, which is hard to find on menus in Portugal.
