Ipanema — Restaurant in Doha

We always look forward to dining at ipanema. Our most recent experience, however, was somewhat disappointing. While all the servers from Niraj to Amine and Anthon were courteous and very accommodating, the newly appointed waiter staff pale in comparison to the previous waitresses who have since moved on. Our waitress was very stoic and made us feel very rushed. The entire experience seemed very transactional and not as hospitable as previous visits. While the selection of meats was vast, the quality and variety of cuts seemed a bit more limited this time around. Servers were not very knowledgeable as to the doneness of the cuts we requested and at one point informed me that the cut of meat I was being served was brisket when it was clearly ribeye. I understand that a few of the newer staff were still in training and hope that they improve over time because they were otherwise very pleasant and really tried their best. The only notably disappointing interaction we had was with the gentleman who prepares the ceviche. When I asked that he please not put any onions in my ceviche, he pointed at the salad I was carrying for my husband and asked "how can you be allergic to onions, if you've got some in your salad right there". I should not feel obliged to have to explain or justify my dietary restrictions. He was very abrupt and curt in his approach and should perhaps be trained better on how to deal with customer requests without making them feel uncomfortable or that they have to...

Ipanema undoubtedly prides itself on being one of the oldest Brazilian meat cuts in Doha, and I can certainly vouch for its authenticity. The variety of cuts and the tenderness of the meat were unparalleled. I couldn't have asked for a more delightful gastronomic journey.

The service I received from your staff members, Ingrid, Anthon, and Camila, was exemplary. They went above and beyond to ensure that my dining experience was enjoyable and memorable. Their attentiveness and warm demeanor added an extra touch of hospitality to the evening. Their knowledge of the menu and the meat cuts available showcased their dedication to providing an exceptional dining experience for every customer.

The ambiance of the restaurant added to the overall charm of my visit. The lively Brazilian music and the warm, inviting atmosphere created a perfect backdrop for indulging in the flavorsome culinary offerings. The attention to detail in the décor and the comfortable seating arrangements further complemented the dining experience.

It's not often you come across a place that is truly deserving of 5 stars across the board however Ipanema is just that. I experienced the Sabadao Brunch (Satuardays, 195QAR), offering 7 selections of BBQ options and a wide variety of salads, sides and a ceviche station and I was thoroughly impressed. From the moment you walk in, the friendly host, in our case Ingrid, seats you at your table and explains how the unlimited BBQ works. Then the super friendly and attentive team come around with options of meat that is expertly cooked by the chefs and delicately sliced by the team. The Picanha was undoubtedly the star of the show however all the other options were also delicious. The sides, sauces and salads served as the perfect accompaniments for the rich meat and the tangy and refreshing ceviche is the perfect palate cleanser to help you get down even more meat. Finally you can finish your meal with a delicious fruit flambe, grilled pineapple or any of the other wide range of dessert options. In conclusion, Ipanema leaves nothing to be desired, the food is delicious and fresh, the service is outstanding and attentive and the vibe and atmosphere is fun without distracting from the food.
