We visited the restaurant because our previous experience there was positive. As customers, we asked the staff about an issue related to their app regarding the meals. The staff said they would talk to the manager and get back to us, but they proceeded with service without returning to us. We assumed that our request was approved. At the end of the meal, when we asked the manager the same question again, they responded to us unprofessionally, both with their body language and expressions. When we pointed out that their behavior had crossed into rudeness and mentioned that we wouldn't return, they further escalated their rude behavior.
I have never seen a manager act this rudely, not only in restaurants but in any establishment, anywhere in the world. The fact that this person was Turkish and displayed such unwarranted rudeness, inconsistent with their prior behavior, upset and angered us greatly. It is unacceptable for a manager, who is expected to be solution-oriented and possess strong communication skills, to act like an ordinary person from the street. Ultimately, questions and requests come from the customer, and it is their responsibility to provide appropriate responses.
I have been in Qatar for over a year and have never encountered such an attitude from anyone, whether Turkish or from other nationalities. The quality of food is not always everything; attitude is far more important. I want to warn those considering visiting. Additionally, the fact that their behavior is good one day and like this another reflects the managerial quality and the...
Read moreWe enjoyed the food and the hustle and bustle with the owner/chef also serving. We ordered too much food but liked tasting all of the different dishes. First we were brought a hibiscus tea and an amuse bouche. That was lovely. Dimitri ordered the Kelle Paca Sheep Bone Soup (QAR 35) and Turkish bread that was good. Dimitri ordered a simit bread too (QAR 8) which he didn’t like. Dimitri liked the soup very much; it was served with a vinegar sauce and a garlic sauce, which enhanced the flavors. Then we shared a starter called Fistikli peynir eritme (QAR 55) that was very cheesy with tulum cheese. That cheese is very much like mozzarella and the dish was only okay. We ordered two mains: one Iskender Kebap (QAR 77) described as a doner with a tomato and bone sauce. It was served with melted butter and a bowl of yogurt and we liked it. The other main was Uzman Beyti (QAR 75) which was minced beef and lamb rolled in dough with a side of yogurt. It was okay. For dessert, we had the sicak helva dondurmali (QAR 20) which we really liked. The dondurma was the right texture and was delicious. The semolina with it was good. We tried the herbal tea (QAR 19) which we didn’t like, the buyuk su (QAR 18) and the ayran (QAR 10) which was a salty lassi that we did like. We spent QAR 317, US $ 87.06 and...
Read moreCalm and classy interior with great food! This place ticked all my boxes after a long shopping spree at the mall. It was located at the third floor next to the food court.
Waiters and staff are well-trained and attentive. I really admired the fact that the kitchen staff seemed Turkish which gives authenticity to the food offered.
Coming to the food, it is seasoned but not too much, giving the chance to actually taste ingredients rather than covering that with too many spices. I found it to be fresh and a different take on the Turkish cuisine we are used to in Qatar. The tavouk sis was flavorful and moist with sides that are really new to me and I thought went well with the grilled chicken. The plating was somewhat messy though. The Çiğ köfte (vegetarian) was really good, spicy and fresh. I didn't like the tea I ordered though as it tasted old.
The prices are fair given the quality and quantity. 100 QR/person will be enough for a main course, drink and a shared appetizer and dessert.
I really hope to go back and try the rest of the menu especially if they start...
