We recently had the pleasure of visiting, and the simple truth is, this place delivers flavor and atmosphere in equal measure.
Nestled among the vibrant spices and traditional textiles of Doha’s historic Souq Waqif, The Rice and the Noodle is more than just a restaurant—it's a truly superb dining experience. If you’re a fan of Asian cuisine, trust me, you need to add this to your list.
The Food: A Pan-Asian Powerhouse What makes this spot special is its diverse menu, pulling the best from Chinese, Japanese, and Thai kitchens. Forget choosing one country; here, you can have it all!
For the Noodle Lover: You absolutely have to try the Pad Thai. It’s the perfect balance of sweet, sour, and savory, and the noodles are perfectly cooked. It’s a solid, authentic choice.
The Crowd-Pleaser: Don't skip the appetizers! The Dynamite Shrimps are a non-negotiable must-order. Crispy, coated in a homemade spicy mayo, they are addictive. The kitchen manages to execute such a wide variety of dishes with impressive consistency.
The Price: The food is offered at highly affordable prices, emphasizing the excellent value for money especially if you have "My Book" lol!.. 😂
The Vibe: Tradition Meets Taste One of the biggest selling points is the ambiance. Sitting outside, surrounded by the beautiful, traditional architecture of Souq Waqif, while enjoying a bowl of Japanese Udon or Singapore Noodles is a unique Doha experience. It's cozy, lively, and a fantastic place for people-watching.
Final Verdict: Highly Recommended The Rice and the Noodle offers high-quality, delicious Asian fusion food at great value in one of the city's most iconic locations.
To everyone, and especially to those who love Asian cuisines—whether you’re craving comforting Chinese favorites, flavorful Thai noodles, or fresh sushi rolls—this restaurant is an absolute win. Go for the food, and stay for the enchanting Souq Waqif atmosphere!

Read moreFirst time eating here and will not eat here again, we ordered dumpling soup, spicy prawn basil chili(the taste was really bad (this is a main course)), white rice, cheese & fried salmon(a main course as well we ordered the 4 pcs which is 23 QAR only), and spicy mix sushi bowl. Before entering the restaurant we asked the waiter if they accepts Entertainer voucher and he said yes, we had a 2 main course buy 1 get 1 45QAR voucher. When we are about to pay they got us confused with there entertainer voucher discount rules telling us that we did not ordered 2 main course even the cheese & fried salmon rolls and the spicy prawn basil chili are main courses, instead of deducting the voucher which is 45 QAR, they insist on telling us that we can get another cheese & fried salmon rolls for free so we can avail the voucher so they deducted only 23 QAR, I am not an expert with using this vouchers because we just used this for the 2nd time in this restaurant , we used this entertainer voucher at first in RAMEN restaurant and everything was smooth and we ordered 2 main course and one main course was for free even if the price was more than what was on the voucher. That is why the experience here in rice and noodles restaurant souq waqif branch aside from the taste of the food and the service was not good as well, imagine the waiter was not attentive when we finished paying the bill he told us why you did not inform me that you have entertainer voucher and we were shocked, and told him that we did inform you from the very beginning. I am not usually writing comments in restaurants but paying 175QAR for food it should at least...

During our visit, we opted for Chinese food, ordering:
Fried rice with garlic and shrimp – perfectly seasoned and full of flavor.
Sweet and sour – a well-balanced dish with just the right blend of tanginess and sweetness.
Crab corn soup – creamy, rich, and comforting.
Dumplings – freshly made, juicy, and bursting with taste.
Every dish was super delicious, prepared with high-quality ingredients and well-executed flavors.
Adding to the great experience was our waitress, Mary, who was exceptionally friendly and cooperative, ensuring we had everything we needed.
