We felt scammed!
It was our first time in this restaurant. Ambience was welcoming. Interiors and lights were great.
A female staff welcomed us and guided us to our table. We immediately asked if we could use our vouchers. We do have Entertainers, MyBook and UrbanPoint. She told us that they don’t honor these anymore. Instead, they can offer 20% discounts on selected dishes. Instrad of leaving, we decided to push through simce it was our first time in this restaurant.
Appetizer is “on the house”. It has 3 dipping sauces. We ordered the Chelo Joojeh Platter and the Curry. Softdrink costs 5qar and the still water costs 8qar.
The foods were tasty! Presentation was really nice as well. The curry was creamy and well-seasoned. The platter has 3 different rice on it. The chicken was tender.
When we asked for the bill, a male staff gave it to us with the original price of the menu items. We asked if this is the discounted price as mentioned by the female staff in the entrance. He said “no”. So we asked for the discounted bill. He went back to the cashier and took atleast 5minutes before the same female staff came to us. She asked us if we have the “vouchers” which we already told her from the start that we do have it. We offered our 3 vouchers and she selected the Entertainer. She then told us that they are accepting vouchers. So from qar144, it became qar81.
Until now, we are still thinking why they refused to honor our vouchers and then suddenly accepts it during...
Read moreNestled in picturesque corner of Souq Wasif, The Village is a true gem that combines exceptional cuisine with an unbeatable ambiance and location. From the moment you walk through the door, you’re greeted by an inviting and elegant atmosphere. The restaurant’s location is a major selling point. During my recent visit, I had a pleasure of trying their kebab platter , which was a culinary masterpiece. The appetizers were delicious and the ambience was delightful. However, as the time passed, we realized that the seesha we had ordered was nowhere to be seen. We waited patiently for out waiter to bring the seesha, assuming that it might take little longer to prepare. but after a considerable wait, it became apparent that it had been forgotten. In conclusion, The Village had the potential for a great evening, but the forgotten seesha was notable hiccup. The food, ambience and service had their merits, but the attention to detail was lacking. If the restaurant can improve on ensuring all ordered are delivered promptly, it could be an even better destination for those seeking a relaxing atmosphere and...
Read moreWe went there for breakfast on a sunday morning, which is not at all a rush hour for them.We place an order for a a very basic and simple options on the menu but it took them forever to prepare our order. Then we werent welcomed properly, the staff was so grumpy and had no smiles to see the guests. No guidance on the food options was given by the staff. We had to order whatever we could understand. The food quantity was way too less for the price. Hummus came after everything had come and we started with the breakfast and that too after several follow ups. Waiter didnt offer us water when we reached. No tissues were provided. No staff came to check on us. The whole experience was very disappointing and unpleasant to start our day and week with. There were house fly bothering us through out breakfast time. Would never ever recommend. The food was so average. The service was pathetic & the ambience was...
