Let's start with a premise: you won't get a completely authentic Chinese experience. Food seems to be clearly adapted to local tastes and there were no chopsticks at the tables. Considering Bucharest seems not to have a Chinese community (or if it has, it is really small), this is something acceptable and considering this fact, I think this restaurant was really great. Me and my Chinese friend liked the food very much and this is just the reason to suggest the restaurant. If you want to eat something great, I think this restaurant is a great choice. Staff was also friendly. Maybe the price is not as cheap as that of other places in the nearby, but even not much expensive comparing to Milan (our city) so at the end, for us price was good. Dishes were also very abundant and we got full easily. We have not seen any Chinese staff: it seems a restaurant managed by a local who loves Chinese culture. We were alone for dinner but would really like for them to have more customers, because despite not being Chinese and not providing a 100% authentic Chinese experience (only because they have to adapt to local tastes), they showed all their passion about...
Read moreLooked forward to having a Chinese meal and booked the Peking restaurant in the old town in Bucharest Romania. One on star is too much for this restaurant. It was dark and dingy, the service was appaulling, they forgot my husband,s starter, so I had the hot soup which was ok, husband had nothing. Served the rice with the soup which then went cold so when my main meal came I asked him to heat it up, which he wasn't happy with. My meal which was vegetables was hard and also hard to eat came swimming in soy sauce, meanwhile no rice, my husband still had no meal and in the end had to ask where it was which he replied there are other people to serve( only 6 people including us) so my husband finally got his meal along with the elusive rice which was still cold. The meal was the worse one we had on our trip and the service was equally appaulling. One star is too much for this terrible restaurant, my advice go elsewhere and give...
Read moreLots of things to say about the place. Great food, albeit soupy stir-fry noodles virtually drowned in soy sauce. Food generally too oily. Dining room far too dark and dimly lit, which makes the experience a bit depressing/drowsy. With that being said, good vibes, despite imperfections great food, and affordable prices. Given you're okay with the downsides I listed above, should be a great place to stop and have a bite to eat. Would recommend despite those few elements which could sorely do with some changing. Although counter-intuitive for flavor, a little less liquid for noodles so the soy sauce doesn't pool at the bottom half of the bowl would be nice. I understand wok stir-fry uses a lot of oil, but everything could do with a little bit less oil. Great place, but please get better ambiental lighting. Louder music would help as well - the time spent waiting for food was almost as if I was...
