I must be blind for not seeing the 4.2 “stars” based on the reviews rating here. We visited and waited 30 minutes for someone to come and give us a menu even though all tables were already served and no waiters were in sight the whole time.
After we finally get noticed and given a menu, we choose to order a smoothie and an iced tea when the waiter cuts us off saying that their machine for smoothies and iced teas broke and they can’t do smoothies, iced teas, and basically anything other than cocktails + soft drinks. (Why wasn’t this mentioned when we were given the menu initially to adjust our order accordingly is a mystery)
Fine we say let’s have 2 mojitos (36 RON btw per drink). The order was served 30 minutes later with minimal to no words spoken from the staff to us and at no point were any of the staff polite or said once “here you go, thank you, you’re welcome” etc. I am not expecting you to kiss my feet but at least a “sorry for the wait” would have been appreciated. Anyways.
We try the mojito and guess what - it was just water with mint leaf, ice and literally no alcohol was present inside the drink. The location also is s**t since it is on intersection of two main streets and many people revv up their bikes or engines non-stop trying to get as many looks as possible from the tourists walking on the sidewalks and the caféteria’s customers.
Negatives: Rude Service, Dumb Location, Quality of Products.
Positives: POS terminal for card payments
I have rarely given such a negative review but this is just a tourist trap. AVOID...
Read moreThis was my second time at Ruby, and I know I will return here again. The first time I came here was after a concert at the Ateneum—it was on the way, and we just stopped by out of curiosity. This time, we were nearby again and decided to revisit this location.
I really enjoyed the salmon croissant—it was fresh and delicious. The 70% dark hot chocolate was rich and smooth, exactly how I like it. I also tried some of their chocolates, and what stood out the most was one made with Roscova (carob). It was a completely new taste for me, and I loved the experience of trying something different. I love the fact that they have a nice selection of sugar-free mini chocolates.
The whole visit was relaxed and enjoyable. The staff was incredibly kind and welcoming, and it just felt like a place where you could unwind and enjoy good treats without rushing. I’m really glad we decided to come back, and I highly recommend this place to anybody who wants to relax with a nice cup of...
Read moreIt's a tourist trap to avoid by any means :
1- the prices are very high for the city if you take anything more than a coffee. You can find better deals, pastries and ambiance nearby.
2- the pastries for which we went there were served frozen out of the freezer as hard as ice. Ain't that something for 40 lei pastery? They are frozen but they don't say it and you might think it's home made. They didn't even bother to unfreeze ours. What a shameful shameful café.
3- They automatically charge tips around 10% even though you did not authorize it( and even when paying with card).
4- the ambiance is cool with the music and all when there are not a lot of people otherwise it's so crowded and not worth it.
5- some of the items on the menu are ghost items, they are there to attract you as you sit but when you order they offer you coffee instead. Lol
In a nutshell, we were tricked in every possible way. Especially the frozen in house pastries for 8 euros a pop,...
