Here is my experience with this restaurant. I've been to a lot of high end places, fine dining ones, pricey ones, you name it. As soon as you are enter the place you learn that nobody is guiding you to your table (we also had a reservation, thing that has to be mentioned). I picked a random free table from the few ones and waited for the someone to bring us some menus. The waiters do not wear a uniform and not even matching outfits in order for the clients to be able to spot them easily. Ordered a premium gin from their menu (Hendricks), that was fine as a beverage, but the presentation was awful, the glass was full of huge chunks of grapefruit, like they were cut in Fruit Ninja, and that was everything with the presentation, pretty poor I would say for an almost $10 glass of gin tonic (see attached pictures). The single ALE from the beer menu was not available, so I sticked with a Cuba Libre, nothing bad, nothing spectacular, lack of presentation, again, and served in a whiskey glass full of ice. Now the food. On the table there are some pieces of textile, serving as tablecloth. Everyone is resting their arms on them, placing their phones / wallets, it's not the cleanest thing you want to touch. The waiter placed the cutlery directly on the table, without a napkin under it! I find this unacceptable for this kind of restaurant. The cream soup was ok, skin temperature like, but fine. Pork was tender and the mushroom sauce was fine. Duchesse potatoes - total disaster! In my opinion they were made in the previous day and reheated, but just a little bit. They simply tasted old. I would accept this kind of experience from a restaurant with half the prices. I would suggest to give the waiters a uniform, or at least the same shirts, train them to greet the people, invite them to the table, smile, put a god damn napkin under the cutlery, not place it directly on the table, prepare fresh food, because i got the feeling that the food was pre-made and just reheated, but only a little bit. I do recommend this place only if you've never been to a similar kind of restaurant and you have no...
Read moreThe place is nice, in a good area, very very close to Calea Victoriei and Piața Amzei, with a nice garden. Unfortunately they have some trees in the garden and there where a lot of things falling down from them, like small leaves, and from time to time some small insectes. We also had some kind of big bug who crawled out of the wooden floor on the leg of a lady, some sort of grasshopper... The food was dissapointing. Not that tasty, not that well presented. They brought us the soup and a salad first, but only after a couple of minutes they brought us also some toast. As for the linguine with beef and truffle, the pasta was overcooked. When I asked for some parmeggiano, they brought me something which was definitely not that, it looked grated in a way I never saw it before. The caramelized pave salmon was also not that great. We ordered some prosecco by the glass, and we received something really cheap and with a bad taste (and I know my prosecco). The service was kind of strange. We were mainly served by a young man who was a bit weird, he tried to be nice but somehow he seemed and sounded really stressed. His lady colleagues were nicer, but everyone seemed a bit stressed, they were not natural, they looked very tensed, it looked that it was their first day over there. And in the end the young man brought us the bill with a 10% tip already included, without asking us. Which I find it strange and unusual...
Read moreWhile it markets itself as a high class restaurant (with high prices to sustain this), the food was “mid”. But I could have lived with that… what I can’t understand and was offended by was that they tried (and succeeded) to rip our table off by bringing to the table items we did not ask for, and when confronted about it, were rude and basically dismissed us. Specifically, they asked us (4 people) if we wanted two bottles of water for the table. We said no, one was enough. When we asked for the check, 2 bottles were charged. We asked about this and they said they brought one at the beginning and filled our glasses, and afterwards brought another one - which they opened and left on the table - which we didn’t event notice, nor did we request it. When I asked why they brought the second, given that none of us asked for a second bottle, they basically told me to leave. For this disrespect (because the issue is not the extra 5 euros), I will make a formal complaint to the consumer protection authority (I assume if they do this with water, they can do it with whatever drinks they want). Conclusion: awful place, with poor service… will...
