We recently held an event for over 20 people and unfortunately, our experience was bitter concerning the dessert arrangements.
During the planning stages, we specifically inquired about dessert options with the event coordinator. We were told that dessert would be à la carte and even mentioned that crème brûlée would be a preferred choice for our guests. This was explicitly communicated to ensure they were aware of our needs.
Imagine our surprise and embarrassment when, upon reaching dessert, we were presented with a mere two options: 3 apple tarts or chocolate cake. Not only was the crème brûlée unavailable, but there were no other dessert choices whatsoever. This lack of variety forced us into an awkward situation, essentially "auctioning" off the limited number of apple tarts amongst our guests.
It's truly baffling that a restaurant, especially when hosting a large group on a Sunday afternoon, would be so unprepared regarding desserts. This oversight was particularly disappointing given the cost of the event; we expected a much higher level of professionalism and attention to detail.
To add insult to injury, the event coordinator later attempted to shift the blame onto us, referencing a phone call where we had inquired about the restaurant's policy on bringing in a cake from an outside vendor. It's important to clarify that we only asked about this policy; we never stated our intention to bring our own dessert. This attempt to deflect responsibility is simply unacceptable.
The lack of communication, the limited dessert options, and the subsequent attempt to blame us for their mistake significantly detracted from our event. We would not recommend this restaurant for large group events if you expect a smooth and well-organized...
Read moreDon't go to this place if you want to avoid having a family/ friends /food gathering ruined after waiting for more than 1.5h to only get a superficial answer like "sorry, we still have no idea how long your order will take" .. we had a reservation done few hours before lunch. Thus, no room for the owners to invoke lame excuses about being overwhelmed about the situation since they knew in advance the occupancy level - we've kept being said the place hosts some lunches indoors and the staff / kitchen staff is overwhelmed - would have been totally understandable to have this said if we landed there without reservation or when we attempted to have the reservation ( to acknowledge they could not face so many tables and simply decline it) or at least immediately after we arrived ( already knowing the same critical situation they were in towards other customers). Again, bad management and greed at its highest. Absolutely disgusted.. considering also the experience and high standards they claim.. some realistic and common sense attitude would have avoided all this bad joke and especially would have avoided pushing the staff to the edge and having them face awkward and unpleasant embarrassing discussions because of a situation out of their control ( I guess not all guests were as understanding as others). Overall, the location is nice - the inner garden full of greenery can get your mind off the thoughts of how hungry you are & how much longer it will take to get your order - but only for a while. It cannot simply compensate the negative aspects of main services to place is intended for. For future I will just avoid this place. The stars are only for the scenery and the vegan options on the menu ( no idea how they taste, as we decided to leave...
Read moreThis review is related to a visit during COVID-19 restrictions. I don't really know how it would've been during normal conditions.
The food is good, sometimes even great. The menu is not really an encyclopedia, so there aren't a lot of choices, but I don't dislike concentrating on a few good items.
Since COVID-19 took the year off and started visiting all the places in the world at once, we were allowed to dine for 2 hours (yes, limited time) in an igloo (plastic-covered) that was placed outside, but this didn't pose a problem since we were assured the igloo would be heated (outside weather went below 10 degree Celsius). The only requirement was for us to buy at least RON 300 worth of food.
Now, let's get down to the downsides. The igloo was not heated. There was a single radiator that didn't stand a chance against the weather and it was turned on only when we arrived. It took about an hour for the igloo to be heated so we would take our jackets off, but still cold. Also, the igloo door was often opened by the waiter which is as expected, but much more of a reason for the igloo to be preheated since the heat was about to escape.
Considering that we reserved the place, we respected their conditions and we paid the sum imposed by the owners, their obligations should've been met too.
Other than that, pretty nice place. The lights...
