It was OK, but a little disappointed by some of the elements that didn't "fit" and felt a bit odd. The place looks pretty nice, with steampunk-ish vibes and very well thought interior design, starting with tables for two to spaces for large groups (upstairs), and a very interesting back yard. The waiters were not very into it, doing their job ok, but they didn't look like they really belonged there (or wanted to be there). Also, the place looks like a pub, but has a food menu of a restaurant (serving everything from breakfast, to soups and main courses, traditional cuisine, tex mex, desserts, exquisite dishes, you name it - they have it), which is not necessarily bad, but just sends mixed "signals". The beer choice is pretty poor, only comercial, supermarket available brands (Staropramen, Guinness, Leffe, some radlers) and - what caught my attention - tap beer with syrup (interesting thing to try, especially if you're not so much into beer 😁) Some prices were at least odd, considering the type and quantity of food (f.e. a cheese platter with 5-6 pieces of 5 cheeses = 40 RON), while others had more "normal" prices (27 RON for a Caesar salad, or 23-30 RON for a main dish). Anyways, all in all, it wasn't bad, it wasn't very bad either, i guess the vibes weren't right 🤷🏻♀️. I'll come back, one or two more times, to try other things too, and maybe I'll have a...
Read moreVery nice summer garden, with lovely vines looking stunning when sunny.
We went there for lunch on a Saturday and were disappointed by the whole experience.
My dish was Grilled Pork Neck with Thyme and Garlic with Argentinian Chimichurri Sauce and Fresh Potatoes Fried in Beef Lard - nothing about that sauce was hinting toward chimichurri sauce! The fries were not fresh but frozen fries and tasteless. The meat was pleasantly tasty and kind of saved the entire dish.
My husband had a pizza and a garlic sauce. The waitress forgot about the sauce, started serving other tables and when the sauce finally arrived a couple of minutes later, it was the wrong one! A sweet red sauce, instead of a garlic one.
They charged extra for sparkling water in our lemonade but weren’t informed in advance. Also the menu says a .4L “carafe” which ended up being a glass as seen in the photo.
The toilet was smelling of urine badly. It smelled like the toilets in old, dirty trains.
The table on terrace was wobbly, the chairs had bird feces, one was on the table as well. We asked for someone to wipe the table but ended up moving to another table under the covered area.
All in all, a disappointing experience outside. Maybe it’s...
Read moreA steampunk artistic ambience bar with a lot of character and love worked into the decor. The bat itself is an absolute work of kinetic art with rotating gears and colors for guest amusement.
The staff is not only informative and engaging, they're also dressed in classy, quirky and interesting bar attire. The hat choices are an especially high point.
The entire setting is divided into four special elements, where new artwork and designs are gradually being installed.
If the steampunk aspects of this bar work for a guest, they should also consider visiting the Steampunk Transylvania Museum a ten minute walk to the north. Though both locations are independent of one another, they tap into similar vibes and passion regarding the steampunk culture.
The drinks here were very tasty and unique. I greatly enjoyed lounging during my visit.
Truly a lovely bit of Romanian culture and hospitality woven into a great and interesting theme. Highly...
