We arrived by airplane and had the hotel book a taxi for us. Strongly recommended. At our last visit we took a taxi for a "fixed price" which after arrival was not that fixed at all. Protesting does not really help, these drivers can be very convincing. Through the hotel we got a taxi for 1350 rubles which is less than transfers shown on websites.|So that was a good start. The hotel is located on the Moika, in walking distance of a lot of attractions and not too far from a subway station. To Nevksiy Propeks is about 10 mintes walk. We had a fantastic room on the top floor. Large with lots of space and a sofa. Everything there: minibar, coffee machine, great bathroom etc. It is very quiet. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Wifi works very well. Under the present system with a phone call-back it is not easy to set up a tablet, but we got help there too.|Our deal did not include breakfast, so I cannot comment on that.|One extra tip not to do with the hotel but useful for travellers: get a Russian SIM card at one of the phone shops (there are many). We paid only 500 rubles for 40 GB of data with a validity of a month. We put it in one of the phones and used that as a hot...
Read moreWe stayed three nights in Arkadia with my family. On the positive side I have to say that it has a good location and the room was tidy, relatively spacious and quiet.|On the negative side, the bed was very uncomfortable (there was a pyramid of 4 different size mattresses) and after asking to replace the bed they only removed one thin mattress from the pile which did not really solved the problem. Also, TV was constantly turning on and off depending on when the fridge turned on or off (... some strange setup with the electricity connections). On the day we left, we had a very early wakeup. We asked the night before to wake us up at a specific time and to book a taxi. Luckily we had our own alarm set up because the reception did non call at the agreed time and the receptionist was sleeping when we went downstairs to leave. We also asked for a take away breakfast which was not ready and it was prepared on the spot by putting random food in a plastic bag. Overall is not so bad but definitely not a 4 star hotel comparing to other 4 stars in Saint...
