Coffeedream — Restaurant in City of Belgrade

We received good service, they Staffa are always moving around and within reach when you need them. They quickly clear dirty cups and glasses, they are proactive I must say. And not only at this specific Coffeedream, but at most I have been to in the city. Their service is quite consistent. Which is great!

If there’s one thing that bothers me however is the smoking in this country. People so much that even in just a café like coffeedream, you will walk out smelling like a chimney. As a non smoker this is really hard to get used to. You somehow have to enjoy your meal or drink in the middle of the smoke. The fact that people smoke indoors forces non smokers to do secondhand smoking. But then again, this is a normal practice in this country and it’s done everywhere, be it a small café, bar, restaurant, ice-cream shop, night club, there is no difference. They smoke everywhere.

Huge disappointment, smoking allowed inside with the room full of smoke and I couldn’t even order and pay outside to go - I still wanted to get the lemonade that I came for and I was asked to go to order and pay inside inhaling the smoke. Completely unacceptable and terrible. Enjoyed another location which seemed to be non-smoking on Sun by the waterfront, only to discover that the ash trays were back on Mon. I might be done with them now and will be looking for other non-smoking coffee shops, turns out there are a couple! The waiter that we interacted with was the rudest, most discriminatory and unacceptable one I have ever seen in Serbia to this day. While he was very polite and civil with local customers, he refused to take our order initially, did not show an ounce of civility, brought out the wrong order and grimaced at us for the entirety of the five minutes we could tolerate sitting there in discomfort. I have never seen such bad service anywhere else in Belgrade, and they should really train or change their staff to be less xenophobiac for such a large cafe in one of the most touristic parts of the city — shame on them.
